What You Will Do

• Design and implement scalable backend systems using Node.js and TypeScript to support high-volume SMS communication.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and refine system architecture for low-latency distributed systems.
• Utilize AWS services (SQS, EC2, S3, DynamoDB) to build and maintain robust cloud infrastructure.
• Proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks to enhance system reliability and developer velocity.
• Mentor junior engineers, sharing knowledge and best practices to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
• Drive initiatives to integrate AI and LLM technologies into existing systems, enhancing functionality and user experience.

Ideal Candidate Background

• 4+ years of experience in backend engineering, with a strong focus on Node.js and TypeScript.
• Proven expertise in designing and owning backend architectures in production environments.
• Extensive experience with AWS services, demonstrating a strong command of cloud infrastructure.
• A track record of building and scaling systems that handle millions of events efficiently.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred

• Experience with React.js and event-driven architectures.
• Familiarity with AI integration and its application in backend systems.
• Previous experience in a high-velocity SaaS or AI infrastructure startup environment.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this role ranges from $250K to $350K, along with competitive equity options that provide meaningful ownership in a high-growth company.
