Job Summary:
The Electrician 2 ensures that the machine working components and work areas are in safe condition. They are responsible for preventive maintenance and downtime machine repairs for the production process to be sure that high quality product is being made and proper machine standards are being followed. They are able perform maintenance supervisory functions and to troubleshoot PLC’s using machine interfaces, prints, and programming software under the direction of the Production / Plant Manager. They report equipment problems and safety concerns to them immediately.
Responsible for maintaining injection molding machines, CNC’s and facilities / ancillary equipment associated with injection molded pipe fittings.
Responsibilities:
- Ensures that all electrical components are in safe working order and well maintained.
- Plans the layout, installation, and repair wiring of electrical fixtures, motors, apparatus and control equipment. Occasionally will design / build electrical control panels for minor facility projects.
- Installs, repair, and maintain electrical wiring, circuitry, control panels, fixtures, motors, and equipment in accordance with national Electrical Code specifications.
- Performs systematic electrical and electronic trouble-shooting.
- Responsible for major repair, maintenance, and installation of all machinery both mechanically, hydraulics and electrical controls.
- Assists in any number of maintenance activities including machine repair, installation new equipment, building walkways, cleaning and painting.
- Orders parts and supplies maintains inventory using CMMS and assists in assessment of new machinery and equipment needed.
- Establishes and maintains a proactive preventive / predictive maintenance program using CMMS and input and collaboration with other technicians.
- Plans new and modified installation consistent with specifications of electrical codes. Also performs general maintenance and processing duties as needed.
- Receives information from Production Manager about: work order requests, safety requirements, PLC minor programming needs, preventive maintenance instructions and manuals.
- Informs the Production / Plant Manager about: equipment problems, PLC program input/output, safety concerns, procurement of spare parts and tools.
- Works with PLC’S and is able troubleshoot using PLC’s under the direction of the Production / Plant Manager.
- Any other duties that the Company in its sole discretion may assign as needed.

Education and Experience:
- High School diploma / GED, required
- Completed Associates Degree/ Bachelor’s Degree in manufacturing, engineering, electrical technology, or other related area, or has completed requirements for certified/licensed Electrician and is in active good standing or has equivalent working experience.
- 5-10 years’ experience working on electrical components in an industrial / manufacturing setting and general maintenance experience
- Previous experience working with and, to some extent, programming/troubleshooting PLCs, wiring electrical components, and running conduit cabling
- Current OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification a plus
- Previous experience in maintenance in a plastics/injection molding preferred
- Leadership experience preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to frequently lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 pounds.
- This position requires, but is not limited to, standing, walking, utilizing stairs or ladders, driving an automatic forklift, climbing, squatting, stooping, twisting, bending, grabbing, and grasping.
- Must be able to work in a non-controlled environment
