Job Description
Join a mission-driven team dedicated to advancing fundraising and awareness initiatives that support the lifesaving work of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. As an Advisor, Direct Response, you will serve as a strategic leader responsible for developing, advising, and executing integrated direct marketing campaigns that drive donor engagement, fundraising performance, and audience growth.
This highly visible role partners with senior leadership, cross-functional stakeholders, and external agencies to create data-informed marketing strategies across direct mail and omni-channel platforms. The Advisor will leverage audience insights, campaign performance analytics, and operational expertise to identify opportunities, optimize results, and deliver exceptional donor experiences.
The ideal candidate combines strategic marketing expertise, strong analytical capabilities, project leadership, and a passion for continuous improvement to influence enterprise initiatives and achieve ambitious business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development, management, and execution of large-scale, multi-channel direct response campaigns that support enterprise fundraising and awareness objectives, from strategic planning through implementation and optimization.
- Serve as a trusted subject matter expert in direct response marketing, providing strategic consultation and recommendations to stakeholders across the organization to advance audience engagement and business goals.
- Partner with leadership and cross-functional teams to identify opportunities, solve complex business challenges, and successfully manage projects that support department and enterprise priorities.
- Develop strategic recommendations using audience insights, campaign analytics, operational considerations, and industry best practices to maximize fundraising effectiveness and donor engagement.
- Manage campaign budgets, financial forecasts, and performance projections while ensuring effective stewardship of organizational resources and achievement of established goals.
- Analyze campaign results, identify trends and opportunities, and translate findings into strategic recommendations that continuously improve performance and efficiency.
- Foster collaboration across marketing, analytics, operations, supply chain, technology, and external vendor partners to ensure seamless campaign execution and achievement of business objectives.
- Represent the Integrated Solutions & Optimization Team in enterprise meetings, presentations, and strategic discussions, influencing decisions and advocating for direct response best practices.
- Lead special projects and cross-functional initiatives focused on innovation, process improvement, operational excellence, and enhanced audience engagement.
- Provide oversight of inventory management, sourcing, fulfillment, and premium procurement activities to ensure resources are available and aligned with campaign requirements.
- Monitor production timelines, workflow processes, delivery tracking, and vendor performance to ensure accuracy, quality, and timely execution of marketing programs.
- Champion innovative approaches, emerging technologies, and integrated marketing solutions that strengthen donor experiences and drive business results.
- Represent ALSAC-St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in a manner that reflects positively on the organization's mission, values, and commitment to its supporters.
Job Requirements
- Deep understanding of direct response marketing principles, campaign development, and industry best practices while ensuring brand integrity and consistency.
- Experience supporting fundraising, customer engagement, or direct marketing initiatives that drive measurable business outcomes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data, trends, and performance insights into actionable recommendations.
- Knowledge of integrated marketing channels and emerging platforms, including direct mail, digital, social, mobile, and omni-channel engagement strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to develop strategic recommendations and execute complex marketing initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to quality.
- Experience managing campaign budgets, revenue projections, and expense forecasting.
- Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization and with external partners.
- Proven ability to lead multiple priorities simultaneously while managing competing deadlines and stakeholder expectations.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to move initiatives from concept through execution.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
- Ability to evaluate campaign performance, identify opportunities for optimization, and recommend strategies to improve future results.
- Knowledge of print production, procurement, fulfillment, and inventory management processes preferred.
- Experience within a nonprofit, fundraising, membership, or mission-driven organization is preferred.
- 5-6 years of relevant experience. Bachelor's degree preferred.
Location & Work Arrangement: This is a hybrid position based at ALSAC's National Executive Office (NEO) in Memphis, Tennessee. Team members are expected to work a combination of on-site and remote days in accordance with organizational hybrid work guidelines.
