Description
We are recruiting for a Fraud Investigator on behalf of a client to join their team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to investigate criminal, ethical, fraudulent, and tip-off incidents, working closely with internal stakeholders, external parties, and law enforcement agencies to deliver meaningful outcomes. The successful candidate will play a critical role in identifying fraudulent activities, conducting thorough investigations, and supporting the recovery of losses.
Responsibilities:
- Investigate criminal, ethical, fraudulent, and tip-off incidents in line with applicable legislation, policies, and industry standards.
- Conduct interviews, gather evidence, analyse records, and prepare detailed investigation reports for management.
- Prioritise and manage a portfolio of investigations, ranging from minor infringements to complex fraud cases.
- Ensure the effective utilisation of fraud management tools and systems, including accurate and timeous case loading and maintenance.
- Maintain investigation records, exhibits, registers, and supporting documentation.
- Collaborate with internal business units, support functions, and external stakeholders to drive investigations to completion.
- Work closely with law enforcement agencies where required.
- Contribute to the achievement of recovery targets and fraud risk mitigation objectives.
- Deliver exceptional service through proactive, innovative, and effective investigative solutions.
Requirements:
- Relevant qualification in Forensic Investigation, Criminology, Law, Risk Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience conducting fraud, criminal, or forensic investigations.
- Strong understanding of fraud investigation methodologies, evidence handling, and applicable legislation.
- Experience working with fraud management and case management systems.
- Excellent analytical, interviewing, report-writing, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple investigations while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgement in complex situations.
- A valid driver's licence may be advantageous.
