What you’ll be doing

Position requires a seasoned Lead Investigator to set and drive standards for corporate investigations across our worldwide businesses. While this role does not directly manage junior investigators, you will be instrumental in developing and delivering training programs for investigative teams across the global organization. You will also define the global standards by which all investigations are conducted, and you will play a key role in monitoring progress, ensuring timely outcomes, and reporting on investigation status.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and enforce global investigation standards, ensuring alignment with legal and regulatory frameworks.

  • Design and deliver training programs for junior investigators across the conglomerate’s diverse business units, ensuring consistency in investigative methods.

  • Conduct follow-ups on ongoing investigations, ensuring timely resolution and tracking outstanding cases through to conclusion.

  • Analyze investigation outcomes, identify trends, and report risks to senior leadership and compliance teams.

  • Act as a subject matter expert, advising on best practices and improvements to investigation approaches across all business sectors.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, external regulators, and law enforcement to ensure comprehensive follow-through.

What you bring to the team

We’re looking for a team player, who is motivated by delivering great work and the Hitachi vision. The role will be mostly remote with days in the Hitachi Office as needed.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and background:

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10-15 years of investigative experience, with a significant focus on global compliance matters.

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in business, law, or a related field preferred.

  • Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) or equivalent certification required.

  • Deep knowledge of international compliance frameworks (e.g., FCPA, GDPR).

  • Proven ability to design and deliver training programs and drive standardized investigative practices.

  • Strong analytical, communication, and strategic planning skills.

  • Ability to influence and collaborate across diverse cultures and business units.

  • Flexibility to work reasonably across time zones as required.
