IMEG is hiring an Electrical Engineering New Graduate in Philadelphia, PA. This entry-level role offers hands-on design, analysis, and project execution experience, with mentorship, training, and opportunities to grow your expertise from day one. You will assist in the engineering analysis, design, and implementation oversight of electrical systems in buildings.
In this role, you will support project execution, planning, documentation, and client communication while working within project budgets and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations. You will join a team with a strong education focus and contribute to high-performance, energy-efficient design aligned with MEP2050 and AIA2030.

What You'll Do
Assist with the design and analysis of electrical systems for buildings, creating detailed designs, specifications, and calculations using engineering software and tools.
Support consulting projects as part of the project team, helping move work forward to meet project goals and client expectations.
Interact with clients to gather project requirements and communicate technical information clearly and professionally.
Help build and maintain client relationships through professional communication.
Assist with project planning, scheduling, and design-progress documentation to support deadlines and objectives.
Analyze low to medium complexity engineering tasks and help develop practical, efficient solutions with senior engineers and consultants.
Participate in quality control processes to help ensure designs and solutions meet company standards, industry standards and client requirements.
Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and electrical engineering best practices, and contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts.
Prioritize safety in all aspects of engineering work and help identify and mitigate potential safety risks associated with electrical systems.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including other engineers, architects, and project managers, to deliver integrated solutions.
What You'll Bring
Required
Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent required
Engineering in Training (EIT) or equivalent required
Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications
Strong technical and analytical skills including knowledge of principles relating to circuit theory, electromagnetism, power systems, and electronics as they relate to electrical systems design for buildings
Knowledge of industry standard engineering software and tools, including lighting photometric calculation software such as AGI, Elum Tools, Visual Lighting, or other; energy compliance software such as ComCheck; and familiar use of Adobe or Bluebeam Revu
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges
Basic knowledge in the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) software
Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
Ability to travel up to 5% with occasional overnight stays
Preferred
Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred
Engineering in Training (EIT) License preferred
Physical Requirements
Regularly required to sit, walk, stand, talk, see, hear, and lift objects up to 25 Pounds
Occasionally required to drive, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, reach with hands or arms, and grasp or pull
Will have limited exposure to outside weather conditions and loud noises
