Work Arrangement -
This role is based in Bupyeong, Incheon, with a flexible work arrangement. Full-time onsite work is not required.
The Role -
As part of the Global Employee Relations team, the Employee Relations Investigator conducts impartial, fact-based investigations into suspected misconduct and policy violations, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, bullying, and violations of GM's Winning with Integrity policy.
This role manages the full investigation lifecycle, including planning, interviews, evidence gathering, analysis, reporting, and case closure. The Investigator partners closely with HR, Labor Relations, Legal, Compliance, and business leaders to ensure fair, timely, and consistent outcomes aligned with GM values, policies, and applicable laws.
The position supports employee relations matters across Korea, China, Japan, Australia & New Zealand, Southeast Asia, and Central Asia.
What You’ll Do -
Lead end-to-end investigations, including planning, interviews, evidence collection, analysis, reporting, and closure.
Conduct objective fact-finding and assess evidence in accordance with GM policies and investigative standards.
Manage multiple complex and sensitive investigations simultaneously.
Prepare clear, concise investigation reports with well-supported findings and recommendations.
Communicate investigation outcomes and recommendations to HR, management, Legal, Labor Relations, and other stakeholders.
Collaborate with cross-functional partners to address workplace concerns and mitigate organizational risk.
Support post-investigation actions, including corrective actions, training, and policy-related initiatives.
Ensure proper case documentation, evidence management, and compliance with record retention requirements.
Handle highly sensitive matters with professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment.
Conduct interviews in Korean and prepare reports and communications in English for global stakeholders.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications) -
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
8+ years of experience in Employee Relations, Human Resources, Corporate Investigations, Labor Relations, Compliance, Legal, or a related discipline.
Proven experience conducting workplace investigations from intake through closure.
Strong interviewing, analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Experience preparing investigation reports and presenting findings to senior stakeholders.
Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining quality and attention to detail.
Demonstrated discretion and experience handling highly confidential information.
Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills in a matrix organization.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Korean and English.

Advanced degree or professional investigation/fraud-related certification.
Experience improving investigation processes, controls, and compliance practices.
Knowledge of the automotive industry.
Experience working in represented or unionized environments.
Knowledge of Korean employment law, labor relations, and employee representative matters.
