The Technical Lead will own, oversee, and drive the strategy, design, delivery, implementation, assessment, and support of one or more applications, platforms, or technology environments. This role provides technical leadership, delivery accountability, risk management oversight, and engineering mentorship while ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, resilient, and aligned with business objectives.
Essential Functions
Technical Leadership
- Own technical design, architecture decisions, and solution approach for assigned applications
- Evaluate feasibility, dependencies, trade-offs, and technical risks
- Define and enforce engineering standards, coding practices, and design quality
- Serve as the primary technical escalation point for complex issues
- Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, resilient, and maintainable
- Drive technical debt reduction and continuous improvement initiatives
Delivery & Execution
- Lead end-to-end technical execution of initiatives
- Ensure delivery commitments are met on time and within scope
- Coordinate activities across multiple development teams and platforms
- Identify and manage cross-system dependencies
- Support production readiness, release planning, and operational stability
Risk & Control Management
- Proactively identify technical risks and mitigation strategies
- Ensure compliance with security, audit, regulatory, and change management requirements
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective action planning for major incidents
- Drive operational readiness, monitoring, resiliency, and support processes
Communication & Influence
- Clearly communicate technical decisions, trade-offs, impacts, and risks
- Translate complex technical concepts for business stakeholders and leadership
- Build alignment across engineering teams, architects, product owners, and vendors
- Provide transparency into delivery status and technical challenges
Team Leadership & Mentoring
- Mentor engineers and develop technical talent
- Reduce key-person dependencies through knowledge sharing and cross-training
- Conduct technical interviews and participate in hiring decisions
- Foster a culture of engineering excellence, accountability, and continuous learning
Education
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience (preferred) or equivalent experience (required)
Work Experience
- 8+ years of software engineering, application development, or technology delivery experience (required)
- 3+ years leading technical design and delivery across multiple applications or platforms
- Experience with system integrations, architecture design, and enterprise application delivery
- Experience partnering with business stakeholders, vendors, architecture teams, and support organizations
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex technical initiatives from design through production implementation
Skills
- Experience applying customer-focused practices and leveraging customer insights to support business and technology solutions.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) practices, methodologies, and technology delivery frameworks.
- Experience leading technical design efforts, evaluating solution trade-offs, dependencies, risks, and architectural considerations.
- Strong knowledge of software development tools, engineering practices, application design principles, and technology delivery processes.
- Experience working with enterprise applications, system integrations, databases, and distributed technology platforms.
- Knowledge of software reliability, performance, monitoring, resiliency, and production support best practices.
- Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve complex technical, operational, and process-related challenges.
- Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills with the ability to influence technical direction and build alignment across teams.
- Experience ensuring compliance with security, audit, regulatory, and change management requirements.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for business stakeholders and leadership teams.
- Experience mentoring engineers, fostering knowledge sharing, and supporting technical talent development.
- Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement, innovation, and engineering excellence.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $96,000.00 - $181,000.00 annually. Placement within the pay range may differ based upon various factors, including but not limited to skills, experience and geographic location. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for incentive compensation which may include production, commission, and/or discretionary incentives.Please click here for a list of benefits for which this position is eligible.
