Director, Pharmacy Operations - Job Overview

Schedule: Monday-Friday (8AM-5PM)

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish strategic planning for Retail Pharmacy Services, aligning with patient care goals
  • Identify and manage workforce requirements to meet care needs and regulatory standards
  • Design and manage workflows to ensure timely and efficient care
  • Implement quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives
  • Perform data collection and utilize reporting tools to identify opportunities for enhancement
  • Oversee the use of information systems and technology for safety in medication management
  • Manage pharmacy inventory effectively to control costs and enhance revenue
  • Collaborate on initiatives that optimize therapeutic outcomes and address drug-related challenges
  • Ensure compliance with audits for controlled substances and adherence to 340b regulations
  • Oversee financial operations, including contracting and billing practices
  • Create educational activities to develop staff knowledge and competency
  • Enhance patient engagement and monitor outcomes through pharmacist communication
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory and accreditation requirements through policy development
  • Take on additional duties as assigned to support the team and our mission

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy required
  • Active Texas Board of Pharmacy License
  • 5-10 years of Pharmacy experience with demonstrated success OR Completed ASHP PGY1/2 Clinical Residency and/or Administrative Hospital Pharmacy Residency
  • Previous Administrative, management, or supervisory experience.
  • Master's degree in Public Health or Healthcare/Business Management preferred
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, and State/Federal laws governing medical services.
  • Exceptional leadership, mediation abilities, and multi-tasking skills required.
  • Strong commitment to customer service and excellence in healthcare.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Basic knowledge of statistics and graphical representation principles.
  • Computer literate in electronic mail, word processing, and office management system software.
