Control Room Pharmacy Technician
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Control Pharmacy Technician to join our team at our long-term care pharmacy. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the control room, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and supporting the overall operations of the pharmacy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the control room operations, including inventory management and record-keeping.
- Ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations regarding controlled substances.
- Assist in the preparation and dispensing of medications as per prescriptions and pharmacy protocols.
- Maintain accurate documentation of controlled substances and report discrepancies as needed.
- Collaborate with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
- Participate in training and mentoring of new pharmacy staff as required.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

The regular work schedule for this position is approximately 40 hours per week (Monday-Friday) and may require additional hours/overtime as necessary, including weekends and holidays as needed and/or on a rotating basis.
Must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception, Ability to adjust focus and Ability to match or detect differences between colors, including shades of color and brightness. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, bend, and walk.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification as a Pharmacy Technician preferred.
- Previous experience in a pharmacy setting, particularly with controlled substances, is highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling medications.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficient in pharmacy software and technology.
