Senior Commercial Insurance Producer
Location: Red Deer, Alberta

The Opportunity
Our client is a well-established, locally owned insurance brokerage with a strong presence in Central Alberta. They are looking to add an experienced Senior Commercial Insurance Producer to their team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an established commercial insurance professional who enjoys building relationships, developing new business, and providing clients with tailored insurance and risk-management solutions.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to leverage an established brokerage platform while taking ownership of business development and growing a commercial portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and grow a profitable commercial insurance book of business through new business development, networking, referrals, and existing relationships.
- Identify prospective clients and build a consistent pipeline of new commercial opportunities.
- Meet with business owners and decision-makers to understand their operations, exposures, and insurance requirements.
- Develop customized commercial insurance programs based on each client's unique risk profile.
- Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting and initial discovery through presentation, negotiation, and closing.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with commercial clients and act as a trusted insurance advisor.
- Identify opportunities to cross-sell and expand existing client relationships.
- Work closely with internal service and broking teams to ensure a smooth and positive client experience.
- Maintain strong relationships with insurance markets and underwriting partners.
- Stay current on commercial insurance products, market conditions, emerging risks, and industry trends.
- Participate in networking events, industry associations, community initiatives, and other business-development activities.
- Maintain accurate client and prospect information within the brokerage's systems.
Areas of Commercial Expertise
Experience with a variety of commercial risks is an asset. The brokerage works with clients across several industries, including:
- Construction and contractors
- Trucking and transportation
- Oil & gas
- Agriculture and farming
- Real estate and property
- Small and mid-sized businesses
- Specialized commercial risks
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial insurance, preferably in a Producer, Broker, Account Executive, or similar client-facing role.
- Demonstrated success in commercial insurance sales and business development.
- Strong existing industry and community relationships are considered an asset.
- Level 2 General Insurance License or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of commercial property and casualty insurance products.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong understanding of commercial risks and the ability to translate those risks into appropriate insurance solutions.
- Self-motivated and entrepreneurial, with the ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- A client-first approach with a genuine interest in building long-term relationships.
