Australian Venue Co. is looking for an experienced Venue Manager to lead Anglers Tavern, an iconic Melbourne pub set against the picturesque Maribyrnong River.

Following an extensive transformation, Anglers Tavern offers something for everyone—from classic pub dining and family-friendly spaces to a buzzing sports bar, expansive beer garden, functions and late-night entertainment.

This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of a large, multi-faceted venue with a strong local following and significant commercial potential.

The opportunity

As Venue Manager, you’ll have full ownership of the venue’s people, performance and guest experience.

You’ll lead an established team, drive the commercial direction of the business and continue building Anglers Tavern’s reputation as one of Melbourne’s leading hospitality destinations.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Leading, coaching and developing the venue management and front-of-house teams
• Taking ownership of the venue’s P&L, labour, stock, budgets and overall performance
• Driving revenue across the bistro, sports bar, functions and entertainment
• Building a strong, accountable and high-performing team culture
• Maintaining exceptional standards across service, food, beverage, compliance and presentation
• Strengthening the venue’s connection with the local community
• Creating memorable experiences that keep guests coming back

About you

You’re an experienced hospitality leader who knows how to balance people, performance and guest experience within a large, fast-paced operation.

You’ll bring:

• Proven Venue Manager or senior leadership experience within a high-volume pub, bar or entertainment venue
• Strong commercial capability across P&L, labour, stock management and venue KPIs
• Experience leading, developing and retaining large, high-performing teams
• A confident, visible and hands-on leadership style
• Experience across food, beverage, functions, sport or entertainment-led operations
• A genuine passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences
• Current Victorian RSA and any other relevant management accreditations
