Materials Team Lead - 1st Shift - $32.10/hr

Work Flexibility: Onsite

Schedule: Monday – Friday 6:00am - 2:30pm, OT as needed

What you will do:

In this role, you will support the Materials Manager in coordinating daily material operations on the production floor, ensuring accurate material flow, inventory integrity, and timely delivery of components to support production schedules and operational needs. This role focuses on maintaining efficient material movement, supporting quality standards, and enabling production teams to meet safety, delivery, and cost objectives.

• Coordinate material availability, staging, and delivery to support uninterrupted production and minimize production downtime.
• Promote inventory accuracy by supporting material movements, ERP transactions, and work order processes (backflushing, transfers, scrap, and completions).
• Assist in identifying and resolving inventory discrepancies through root cause analysis while supporting cycle counts, physical inventories, and audit activities.
• Leverage material usage trends and production demand insights to help optimize stocking strategies and align inventory levels with production plans.
• Reinforce proper material handling, storage practices, FIFO practices, and compliance with GMP, GDP, and traceability requirements.
• Serve as a cross-functional point of coordination between materials, production, planning, warehouse, and quality teams to ensure alignment and material readiness.
• Support the training and development of the Materials team, fostering accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
• Contribute to process improvement and Lean initiatives to enhance material flow, reduce inventory levels, improve space utilization, and enhance line-side efficiency.

 

What you need:

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum of five (5) years relevant work experience, which can include manufacturing, distribution, or logistics experience. 
• Demonstrated ability to influence team performance and contribute to achieving production targets.
• Proven experience with cycle counting, inventory audits, and reconciliation, with the ability to investigate discrepancies and maintain a high level of inventory accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associates or Bachelor’s Degree
• Six (6) plus years of manufacturing, distribution, or logistics experience.
• Experience working with ERP systems, preferably JD Edwards (JDE), including inventory transactions, material movements, and production-related processes.

  

 

$32.10/hr plus bonus potential and benefits.
