Ambassador

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Ambassador is responsible for providing best-in-class customer assistance using a proactive approach to customer experience and safety. Ambassadors will provide a visible presence within Toronto Parking Authority’s top-rated facilities, remaining accessible to customers requiring support in key areas and escalating concerns to the System Operating Centre (SOC). Employees will be responsible to perform work assignments such as:

• Providing real-time assistance and support to customers experiencing difficulties with access, egress and/or pay equipment at TPA's garages, acting as the face of TPA and delivering an exceptional customer experience.
• Providing increased visibility and presence, actively inspecting the main customer access/egress points, enabling rapid risk reporting and response timeline and ensuring safety risks are mitigated in a timely manner.
• Conducting physical inspections of EV charging stations.
• Liaising with security and police, as needed.
• Performing light cleaning of gate equipment, addressing and repairing ticket jams, replenishing ticket stock, and working on other basic care and maintenance items.
• Maintaining cleanliness of booths and offices, including the cleaning of windows, counters, floors (sweeping and mopping), cleaning equipment and high touchpoints.
• Cleaning washroom facilities, including sweeping and mopping, walls, fixtures, mirrors and high touch points.
• Cleaning lunchrooms, storage rooms and tub rooms, performing tasks including sweeping, mopping, cleaning walls, fixtures, appliances, tables, desks, cabinets and sinks.
• Performing light cleaning of the garage, including bag and broom duties, mopping, minor graffiti removal and light cleaning of EV chargers and stalls.
• This position is within the scope of Payment Card Industry compliance.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Completion of grade 12 or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must have good communication skills, both orally and written.
• Experience dealing with the public; must be courteous and tactful.
• Ability to cope with inclement weather conditions.
• Must have good attendance record.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Employees applying for this position will be assigned to perform other related duties as directed by the Manager, Parking Operations and Maintenance, or their designee. Selected applicant will be required to work the relief shift, with rotating days off and must be willing to work any other shift and/or location as required.

HOURS OF WORK:
40 hours per week

HOURLY WAGE:
$31.21
