Join a Hands-On Manufacturing Team
Openwork is hiring an experienced Bridge Shop Team Member for a manufacturing facility in Northeast Houston. This is a hands-on position for someone with industrial or manufacturing experience who is comfortable operating a forklift, using hand and power tools, painting with brushes and rollers, and supporting general shop operations.
Important: This is a safety-sensitive manufacturing environment. Applicants must be comfortable following all safety requirements, including remaining clean-shaven at all times to ensure a proper respirator fit.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Operate a forklift to safely move materials.
- Paint blocks and other materials using brushes and rollers.
- Assist with casting, rolling, cutting, and finishing bridge weights and counterweights.
- Use hand and power tools, including drills.
- Follow work orders and production specifications.
- Measure and inspect completed products for quality.
- Prepare materials and products for coating, packaging, staging, or shipment.
- Move and organize raw materials and finished products.
- Perform general shop duties and support other production areas as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
What We're Looking For:
- 2+ years of manufacturing, fabrication, construction, industrial shop, or similar hands-on experience.
- Previous experience painting with brushes and rollers required.
- Forklift operating experience required.
- Experience using hand and power tools, including drills.
- Basic math and measurement skills.
- Ability to follow work orders and production instructions.
- Comfortable performing physical work and handling heavy materials.
- Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
- Safety-focused and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to meet all PPE and respirator requirements.
- Must remain clean-shaven at all times to ensure proper respirator fit.
Work Environment & Safety:
- Climate-controlled facility with spot coolers.
- Work involves lead-based materials.
- Respirator required throughout the shift.
- Must remain clean-shaven at all times for proper respirator fit.
- Daily showering required.
- Periodic blood testing required.
- Must follow all PPE, hygiene, and workplace safety requirements.
- Comfortable working around industrial equipment and heavy materials.
