In order to provide high-fidelity training simulation, Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a
Radar Simulation Specialist (d/f/m)
You will join a team of experienced engineers and subject matter experts to jointly define, implement and integrate complex simulation sub-systems in the domain of sensors and weapons. Our engineers are closely collaborating with other departments and external suppliers in order to provide solutions for high-fidelity trainings systems, with current focus on the Eurofighter pilot training simulation system PSTS.
You will serve as Technical Lead to ensure the provision of tailored simulation solutions for various radar systems, ranging from versatile, generic model to high-fidelity replicas of actual systems, such as the current Eurofighter MSCAN Radar, as well as future systems such as the Eurofighter ESCAN Radar. Based on your deep technical understanding of actual systems and your knowledge of electronic warfare, you will play a key role in the definition and development of optimal solutions to match simulation and/or training needs while respecting technical limitations of distributed real-time systems. As such, you are closely cooperating with various engineering teams, Chief Engineering and Operational Factors, and will act for Radar-related topics as point of contract for alignments and discussions with the Customer and external suppliers.
Major Role & Responsibilities
- Technical Lead to ensure the provision of tailored Radar simulation solutions
- Ensuring the technical expertise regarding current and future radar systems, such as Eurofighter MSCAN and ESCAN Radar
- Performance of Systems Engineering activities to ensure the viable technical radar solutions meeting the requirements and needs of the overall system.
- Technical coordination of external suppliers an alignment with internal stakeholders, such as Chief Engineering, development teams and Operational Factors
- Support of the integration and testing activities at the simulation devices in close collaboration of other subject matter experts
- Ensuring on-time, cost- and quality-compliant development as well as integration of a consistent and powerful radar simulation across all project phases.
- Technical support in the assessment and selection of suppliers
Specific & Technical Skills / Experience Required
- Expertise regarding
- Eurofighter MSCAN Radar
- Eurofighter Training Needs and the current Pilot Synthetic Traning System (PSTS)
- Systems engineering (incl. tools such as DOORS)
- V-model based SW development process
- Extensive Experience in
- Eurofighter MSCAN Radar integration and/or flight test
- Eurofighter Training Simulations Solutions (ASTA/PSTS)
- Eurofighter MSCAN Radar integration and/or flight test
- Systems Engineering and V-model based SW development process, including active contribution in integration activities
- IT literate (MS Office applications)
General Skills / Experience Required
- Educated to degree level in computer science or engineering
- Good language skills in English, both written and spoken
- Strong communication skills with an ability to operate in a multi-cultural environment
- Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy while maintaining close, effective collaboration within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Capability to respond to changes in activities and priorities
- Experience in the alignment with and coordination of various stakeholders
