Track Lead Business - EMS Program

We are looking for an experienced Business Track Lead to support the implementation of a strategic Energy Management System (EMS) delivered as a SaaS solution through an external supplier selected via a public procurement process.

In this role, you act as the voice of the business and coordinate all business-related activities in close collaboration with the Project Manager. You ensure that the future solution delivers the expected business value and remains functionally consistent from requirements gathering through implementation, testing, go-live and user adoption.

You will work in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders, including business representatives, IT teams, external suppliers, architects and security specialists.

📋 Tasks and responsibilities

• Represent the business throughout the full project lifecycle.
• Define, document and validate business requirements.
• Maintain the functional vision of the EMS solution and ensure alignment with business objectives.
• Act as the voice of the customer for functional decisions.
• Ensure consistency between business requirements, tender specifications, evaluation criteria, supplier proposals, solution configuration and testing.
• Lead functional decision-making during implementation.
• Validate supplier analyses, solution designs and configuration proposals.
• Guarantee end-to-end traceability between business requirements and delivered functionalities.
• Serve as the main coordination point for business stakeholders.
• Facilitate collaboration between business, IT and external suppliers.
• Organize and lead business workshops.
• Support decision-making across multiple stakeholders while balancing the interests of different business domains.
• Lead Business Acceptance Testing (BAT/UAT) and coordinate user validation activities.
• Prepare business users for solution adoption and support change management during the implementation.
• Ensure the delivered solution meets both operational and strategic objectives.
• Lead and coordinate the dedicated business team, including operational guidance and work prioritization.
• Coordinate the activities of business process analysts and the test manager.
• Assess resource needs across the various project phases.
• Ensure effective knowledge transfer during the project.
• Contribute to post-go-live continuity, maintenance and continuous improvement.

📝 Your profile

• You have solid experience as a Business Track Lead or in a comparable functional leadership role.
• You have strong knowledge of the relevant business and technology domain.
• You have proven experience in the energy sector, energy optimization, IPMVP, or the management of large real estate portfolios.
• You have hands-on experience with energy monitoring and large-scale energy management systems covering more than 1000 buildings.
• You understand energy purchasing and invoice verification processes.
• You have experience implementing, selecting or evolving enterprise Energy Management Systems (EMS) or a comparable SaaS platform.
• You are familiar with SaaS solutions, including configuration possibilities and integration constraints.
• You have experience leading a team and coordinating cross-functional stakeholders.
• You are comfortable working in a public procurement context and with Request for Proposal (RFP) processes.
• You are familiar with Scrum and tools such as Jira.
• Experience within a Distribution Grid Operator (DGO) environment is required.
• Experience in energy optimization projects is an asset.
• You communicate fluently in English.
• You are fluent in French or Dutch and have a good command of the other national language.

⚠️ This position is offered as a part-time freelance role (60%).
