Job Description:

We believe in bold ideas, diverse perspectives, and the drive to transform knowledge into impact. Here, your curiosity fuels progress, your voice shapes innovation, and your ambition helps redefine what’s possible within science and learning. We are a culture that obsesses over impact, challenges, and drives what’s next to power infinite possibilities for our customers, colleagues and society at large.

About the Role:

The Account Executive is a unified, full-ownership role responsible for managing all aspects of a focused portfolio of non-traditional and for-profit accounts across all of Wiley’s offerings (Alta, WileyPLUS, zyBooks, and ebooks). The Account Executive owns the full customer lifecycle for a defined set of accounts - from pipeline management and contract execution to onboarding, training, and ongoing customer success. This role requires a highly organized, self-directed professional who is equally comfortable closing deals, training instructors, and troubleshooting LMS integrations.

The Account Executive will be part of the Career Colleges team, but collaborate closely with internal teams across product, marketing, finance, and support. This role will report to the Sales Manager, Career Colleges under the Courseware Sales team.

Job Responsibilities:

Sales & Pipeline Management

·       Maintain and grow Wiley business through new adoptions, edition rollovers, and digital expansion; proactively identify opportunities via course catalogs, demos, referrals, and marketing leads.

·       Manage Salesforce opportunities by keeping enrollments, course dates, status, and adoption intelligence current; utilize PowerBI/Mode to track revenue and gaps on a weekly/monthly basis.

·       Own the full contracts and billing cycle: manage renewals, ensure billing accuracy across direct and third-party accounts, and work closely with the IA team to ensure revenue is reported correctly.

Customer Onboarding & Training

·       Lead course setup and deliver live training for Tier 1 and Tier 2 customers; provide self-help resources and automated onboarding support for Tier 3 customers.

·       Ensure all courses are configured accurately before start dates; provide hands-on LTI 1.3 support for LMS Admins and consult with instructors on course implementation and curriculum design.

Customer Success & Retention

·       Serve as the primary contact for all customer needs; hold regular check-ins with top decision makers, deliver white glove service to VIP accounts, and proactively identify and address at-risk customers.

·       Complete Back-to-School check-ins, coordinate with Wiley support on technical issues, and follow up to ensure timely resolution.

Teamwork & Adaptability

·       Collaborate with teammates and manager; attend internal meetings, share account trends, and complete team projects by due dates.

·       Maintain flexibility to shift workflows quickly as the team grows and tests new strategies; ask for support when needed.

Required Qualifications:

·       Bachelor’s Degree required.

·       Industry experience in higher education publishing strongly preferred.

·       Demonstrated ability to manage the full customer lifecycle: sales, onboarding, training, and retention.

·       Strong ability to learn and present digital products across a wide range of disciplines and modalities.

·       Effective communication, relationship-building, and follow-up skills.

·       Problem solving skills

·       Highly organized with strong attention to detail; able to manage accounts independently.

·       Experience working within complex organizations and managing multiple stakeholder relationships.

·       Proficient in Google Suite, MS Office Suite, and Salesforce.

·       Comfortable with LMS platforms and LTI integrations, or ability to learn quickly.

·       Ability and willingness to use video conferencing and screen sharing technology.

·       Strong time and schedule management skills.

·       Able to manage a wide range of customer personalities with professionalism and patience.

·       Willingness to travel approximately 5–10% per year.
