Warehouse Supervisor - DC

The Warehouse Supervisor oversees the daily receiving, storage, packing, and shipping operations within the distribution center. This role ensures warehouse associates meet or exceed productivity and quality expectations while maintaining a safe, clean, and organized environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Warehouse Operations (Receiving, Fulfillment, Shipping)

• Supervise daily operations across receiving, order fulfillment, and shipping functions to meet service and quality goals.
• Guide warehouse associates in workload distribution and provide direct support in task execution.
• Measure and report on production and quality metrics daily, weekly, and monthly.
• Ensure proper receiving processes, including unloading, inspection, documentation, and stocking of materials.
• Ensure timely and accurate staging, verification, and shipment of customer orders.
• Operate forklifts or other equipment if trained and certified; ensure all materials are handled per standard operating procedures.
• Maintain a clean, hazard-free work environment and support continuous improvement initiatives.

People Management and Leadership

• Schedule and adjust staffing based on operational needs within budgeted guidelines.
• Conduct shift meetings, delegate responsibilities, and ensure policies are consistently followed.
• Train, coach, and develop team members for performance, engagement, and potential future roles.
• Provide ongoing feedback, recognition, and progressive discipline as needed.
• Perform timely performance evaluations and maintain performance documentation.
• Collaborate with leads to ensure team productivity, alignment with goals, and morale.

Safety and Compliance

• Promote and enforce adherence to all safety procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
• Conduct accident investigations and incident reporting promptly and thoroughly.
• Ensure team members are trained in warehouse safety protocols and procedures.
• Identify and report safety hazards, damaged goods, or unsafe practices.
• Participate in and support safety training initiatives and compliance programs.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred. Associate's degree or four years of experience in lieu of a degree.
• Minimum of 3 years of distribution center supervisory experience.
• Must have thorough knowledge of distribution center operations, including receiving, shipping, picking, packing, forklift operation, and be cross-trained in all areas.
• Forklift certified (or ability to become certified).
• Effective communication skills with the ability to clearly explain procedures and provide direction.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in basic math and able to interpret and create reports and documentation.
• Demonstrates a proactive and collaborative leadership style focused on team development.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

• Regularly required to stand, walk, handle materials, talk, and hear.
• Occasional movements include sitting, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, and working above shoulder height.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and occasionally operate machinery to lift items over 100 pounds.
• This position requires the associate to regularly use electronic scanning devices.
• Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required, including eye protection, gloves, and steel-toed footwear.
