Overview
The Shipping Associate plays a key role in ensuring automotive parts are accurately packed, processed, and prepared for shipment. This position is responsible for locating parts, verifying order accuracy, packaging items for transport, and staging shipments for outgoing delivery. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, and capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Responsibilities
- Locate and retrieve parts for customer and dealership shipments.
- Accurately verify part numbers, quantities, and shipping information.
- Package parts securely and with care to prevent damage during transit.
- Stage and organize orders for outgoing shipment.
- Operate handheld scanners to track inventory and order movement.
- Enter and update shipping information in computer systems.
- Ensure orders are processed accurately and shipped on time.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all company safety procedures and warehouse standards.
- Assist with inventory control and other warehouse functions as needed.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous shipping, warehouse, logistics, distribution, or order fulfillment experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to read small print and accurately match part numbers and product information.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Basic computer skills and ability to enter information into warehouse systems.
- Experience operating handheld scanners is preferred.
- Basic math and counting skills.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid Driver License
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Frequent stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, climbing, and repetitive motion.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 80 pounds.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding warehouse environment.
- Comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled warehouse with exposure to varying temperatures.
- Regular exposure to extreme heat (over 100°F) and extreme cold (below 32°F).
- Ability to work safely and efficiently while meeting productivity expectations.
