Job Description:

At Remitly, we believe everyone deserves the freedom to access, move, and manage their money wherever life takes them. Since 2011, we've tirelessly delivered on our promise to customers sending money globally, providing secure, simple, and reliable ways to manage their money, ensuring true peace of mind. Whether it's supporting loved ones back home, growing a business across continents, or pursuing new opportunities abroad, we're not just here to move money— we're here to move our global customers forward.

We're looking for builders, reimaginers, and global thinkers who want to work at the intersection of technology, trust, and transformation. If that's you and you're ready to do the most meaningful work of your career—we invite you to join over 2,800 passionate Remitlians worldwide who are united by our vision to transform lives with trusted financial services that transcend borders.

THE ROLE

Remitly’s People team is growing, and we’re looking for a People Operations Partner (Benefits) to own end-to-end benefits administration for our Philippines employee population on a 6-month contract. This is a hands-on, detail-driven role for someone who takes real ownership of getting compliance and execution right, while always looking for ways to make our benefits programs simpler and more valuable for employees.

You’ll be the go-to expert for both company-sponsored and statutory benefits, including HMO, group life insurance, SSS, PhilHealth, and Pag-IBIG (HDMF), managing everything from enrollment, renewal, and claims to government remittances and vendor relationships. You’ll partner closely with employees, vendors, and government agencies to resolve issues quickly and keep our programs compliant with local regulations.

This role requires strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to handle sensitive, confidential information with care. You’ll bring both operational rigor and a genuine drive to improve how benefits are delivered, using better processes and modern tools, including AI, where they add real value.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Benefits Administration & Compliance
Administering company-sponsored and statutory benefits end-to-end (HMO, group life insurance, and other wellness programs, plus SSS, PhilHealth, and Pag-IBIG/HDMF), including enrollment, renewal, and claims processing, while ensuring compliance with local employment laws and regulatory requirements.

Government & Vendor Liaison
Liaising with third-party vendors, healthcare providers, and government agencies (SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG) to resolve employee concerns, process required documentation, and stay ahead of regulatory changes.

Statutory Claims & Documentation
Processing and submitting required documentation for new hires, resignations, loans, and maternity/sickness claims; monitoring statutory claims for accurate payroll inclusion; and preparing certifications of contribution as requested by employees or government agencies.

New Hire Onboarding & Employee Support
Facilitating benefits orientation for new hires, handling day-to-day benefits inquiries and ticketing with compassion and urgency, and maintaining FAQs and self-service materials so employees can find answers quickly.

Data Integrity & Continuous Improvement
Maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality of employee and benefits data, and proactively identifying opportunities to improve benefits processes, documentation, and self-service tools, including exploring AI and automation where they add value.

WHO YOU ARE

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the Philippines benefits administration, compensation and benefits, payroll, or a closely related HR function.

  • In-depth knowledge of PHL statutory benefits (SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG) and local labor law compliance.

  • A high level of confidentiality and sound judgment handling sensitive employee data.

  • Strong attention to detail and a process-first mindset; you catch what others miss.

  • A strong sense of urgency and initiative in meeting deadlines and resolving employee concerns.

  • A collaborative partner who builds trust with employees, vendors, and government agencies alike.

  • Tech-forward and systems-curious; comfortable with HRIS platforms and open to using AI and modern tools to work smarter.

  • Genuinely passionate about Remitly’s mission and the immigrant communities we serve, and deeply aligned with our mission and values.

Our Connected Work Culture: Driving Innovation, Together

At Remitly, we believe that true innovation sparks when we come together. Our Connected Work Culture fosters dynamic in-person collaboration, where ideas ignite and challenging problems find solutions faster. This creates a consistent, meaningful overlap that supports team norms and business needs. Managers also have the flexibility to set higher expectations based on their team's specific needs. These intentional in-office moments are vital for deepening relationships, fueling creativity, and ensuring your impact is felt where it matters most.

Remitly is an E-Verify Employer

At Remitly, we are dedicated to ensuring that our workplace offers equal employment opportunities to all employees and candidates, in full compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
