We're looking for a PDU Assembly Technician to join our Night Shift team at our Price, Utah facility. This position reports directly to the PDU Assembly Supervisor.

Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 8:00 PM–6:30 AM
Location: Price, Utah
Reports To: PDU Assembly Supervisor

 Shift Differential: Additional shift differential pay is available for eligible hours worked during the regularly scheduled Night Shift.    

What You'll Do

As a PDU Assembly Technician, you'll work in a high-volume production environment assembling mechanical components, installing electrical devices, and performing basic wiring on electrical equipment. This may include working with switches, breakers, electrical panels, and related components.

Technicians in this position cross-train between mechanical and electrical assembly functions and are expected to consistently produce efficient, high-quality work while meeting the demands of a high-volume production environment.

Essential Responsibilities

Additional responsibilities may be assigned based on production needs.

Mechanical & Electrical Assembly

• Read and interpret technical assembly prints while working under the direction of an Electrical or Mechanical Lead Technician or the PDU Assembly Supervisor.
• Construct mechanical and bus bar assemblies and wire and install electrical components, including switches, programmable process controllers (PLCs), data loggers, relays, breakers, electronic instruments, and other instrumentation used in the manufacture and repair of electrical power equipment.
• Position, align, and make necessary adjustments to mechanical workpieces and electrical components to prepare them for assembly or wiring.
• Complete basic electrical wiring functions as required for assigned equipment.
• Build and install wiring racks and electrical bus bar according to project requirements.
• Inspect and correct assembly issues by adjusting, repairing, or replacing electrical, electronic, and mechanical components to ensure finished work conforms to required specifications.
• Troubleshoot basic electrical and mechanical problems, determine the cause of equipment malfunctions or failures, and complete necessary repairs.
• Evaluate equipment to determine whether repairs are practical, determine repair costs, refurbish equipment, and replace defective components when required.
• Complete installations according to current electrical codes, customer specifications, IE standard procedures, and established quality-control requirements.
• Manage assigned work to ensure projects are completed according to required schedules, quality expectations, and delivery requirements.

Tools & Equipment

• Safely use the hand tools required for assembly work, including wire strippers, crimpers, drills, razor knives, and other applicable tools.
• Use overhead cranes, forklifts, and hoists to support electrical assembly and move materials or projects as necessary.
• Properly care for tools and equipment, maintain them in good operating condition, and return equipment to the appropriate storage location at the end of each shift.

• Maintain regular and consistent attendance and arrive to work on time.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Preferred Experience

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• Previous experience working with industrial electrical distribution equipment or within a similar industry is preferred.
• Experience using hand tools, crimpers, wire strippers, drills, and electrical testing equipment such as a DVOM is preferred.

Technical Skills

• Ability to read and understand basic electrical wiring schematics and layout diagrams.
• Ability to produce high-quality electrical and mechanical assemblies while maintaining close attention to detail.
• Demonstrated troubleshooting ability with the awareness to recognize and anticipate potential problems before they impact production or quality.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and perform a variety of assigned job duties.

• Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively as part of a team with minimal supervision.
• Comfortable working closely with other technicians and management to maintain production flow and meet required due dates.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Must be able to push and/or pull up to 100 pounds.
• Must be capable of standing and walking for extended periods of time.

Work Schedule & Availability

Must be able to work a 40-hour work week and additional time as required.
