Micron is seeking an experienced technology leader to serve as Director, Technology Engineering & Innovation (TE&I) in Hyderabad, India.

This role will lead the India-based TE&I organization, providing leadership across infrastructure engineering, operations, automation, reliability engineering, and service management functions. The Director will be responsible for building and scaling a high-performing organization that delivers critical capabilities supporting Micron's global IT infrastructure landscape.

The successful candidate will bring extensive experience leading large teams within complex multinational enterprises, managing through senior managers and technical leaders, and driving operational excellence at scale. The individual will collaborate closely with global TE&I leadership peers across North America and other regions to execute strategic priorities, modernize infrastructure platforms, improve reliability, and expand Micron's engineering capabilities in India.

This role requires a strong people leader who can balance execution, organizational development, operational rigor, and transformation while establishing Hyderabad as a strategic center of excellence for TE&I.

Key Responsibilities

Organizational Leadership

• Lead the India-based TE&I organization, including managers, engineers, architects, operational teams, and technical specialists.

• Build and scale a world-class engineering and operations organization supporting Micron's global infrastructure objectives.

• Establish Hyderabad as a strategic hub for infrastructure engineering, operations excellence, automation, and innovation.

• Drive organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, succession planning, and employee engagement.

• Foster a high-performance culture centered on accountability, collaboration, innovation, customer focus, and execution excellence.

• Develop and execute organizational strategies that align talent, capabilities, and resources with business priorities.

Engineering & Operational Excellence

Provide leadership for India-based teams supporting:

• Network Engineering and Services

• Cloud Infrastructure and Platform Services

• Database Engineering

• Infrastructure Engineering

• Infrastructure Automation

• Observability and Monitoring

• Site Reliability Engineering (SRE)

• Global Infrastructure Operations

• Global Network Operations Center (GNOC)

Responsibilities Include:

• Driving engineering excellence and operational maturity across all functions.

• Ensuring consistent execution of technology roadmaps and operational priorities.

• Improving reliability, scalability, service quality, resilience, and operational efficiency.

• Championing automation-first operational practices and platform engineering principles.

• Supporting infrastructure lifecycle management, technology refresh planning, capacity management, and operational readiness initiatives.

• Establishing performance metrics and accountability frameworks that measure business outcomes and service quality.

Strategic Partnership & Collaboration

• Partner with global TE&I leaders to execute infrastructure strategies and transformation initiatives.

• Collaborate with architecture, security, cloud, networking, and infrastructure leadership teams across regions.

• Influence strategic technology decisions through operational insights and engineering expertise.

• Serve as a key member of the broader IT Infrastructure leadership team.

• Build strong cross-functional relationships with business, security, application, and infrastructure stakeholders.

• Drive alignment across global teams to ensure consistency, scalability, and operational excellence.

AI, Automation & Transformation

• Drive adoption of automation, AIOps, and AI-enabled operational capabilities.

• Improve engineering productivity through platform modernization and process optimization.

• Lead organizational and operational transformation initiatives.

• Identify opportunities to reduce complexity, improve service delivery, and increase operational efficiency.

• Leverage data-driven insights to improve infrastructure performance, service reliability, and operational outcomes.

Service Management & Reliability

• Establish strong operational disciplines across incident, problem, change, and service management processes.

• Lead efforts to improve platform reliability, service availability, customer experience, and operational performance.

• Drive root-cause elimination and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Ensure teams operate against clear operational metrics, service-level objectives, and business expectations.

• Promote reliability engineering practices that improve resilience and reduce operational risk.

• Manage India-based operational budgets, staffing plans, and resource allocations.

• Support infrastructure investment planning and cost optimization initiatives.

• Partner with global leaders on workforce planning and organizational growth strategies.

• Ensure effective utilization of resources while maintaining service quality and operational efficiency.

• Balance short-term operational requirements with long-term strategic investments.

Required Qualifications & Industry Background

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

• 15+ years of experience in enterprise infrastructure, technology engineering, and operations.

• 8+ years of experience leading managers and senior technical leaders.

• Proven leadership experience leading Technology Infrastructure, Engineering, Operations or Platform organizations within the Semiconductor industry and/or Product-based technology companies.

• Experience leading organizations of 50+ professionals across engineering and operations functions.

• Demonstrated success managing globally distributed teams and collaborating across multiple regions and cultures.

• Experience supporting enterprise-scale infrastructure environments serving global workforces.

• Strong understanding of infrastructure engineering, cloud platforms, networking, operational excellence, automation, observability, SRE, and service management disciplines.

• Exceptional leadership, communication, stakeholder management, organizational development, and change leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building and scaling large technology organizations in India.

• Experience leading infrastructure teams within Fortune 500 or similarly large global enterprises.

• Experience with cloud transformation, automation, SRE, AIOps, and platform engineering.

• Experience managing through multiple layers of leadership.

• Understanding of infrastructure security, resiliency, governance, and compliance practices.

• MBA or Master's degree in a relevant field.
