Jacobson Plaza Recreation Staff

The Jacobson Plaza is the city's newest park system featuring a skate ribbon, playground, splashpad, and dog park! Parks and Recreation is looking for staff to help create visitor experiences and ensuring is a welcoming place for everyone. You’ll work with a team to ensure positive visitor experiences, conduct skate rentals, monitor safety, and support special events. 

Parks and Recreation has two roles available:

• Recreation Assistant: role emphasizes customer service, teamwork, and creating a welcoming experience for every visitor while representing Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation. Hourly rate is $16.31 and desired applicants are ages 15 and above.

• Recreation Leader: role emphasizes leadership, problem-solving, and creating a high standard of customer service while representing Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation. Hourly rate is $18.48 and desired applicants have prior customer service and have held positions of responsibility.

Work Hours:

• Monday through Thursday: shifts starting between 3:30-5:30 p.m. and ending at 8:15 p.m.
• Friday: shifts starting between 3:30-5:30 p.m. and ending at 10 p.m.
• Saturday: 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; 3:15 to 10 p.m.
• Sunday: 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; 3:15 to 8:15 p.m.
• Flexible scheduling available!
• Work hours will begin in early November with training in late October.

Applicants must be 15 years old.

Must be willing and will be required to work a varied schedule including weekends and evening hours.

Applicants should demonstrate excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
