About the role

We're looking for an experienced Electrical Maintainer to join our Amrun Plant Maintenance team. You'll carry out routine maintenance, attend breakdowns and deliver improvement works on our Southern Operations fixed plant assets and associated infrastructure, always looking for better ways to do things.

Our Amrun plant includes sizers, crushers, screens, conveyors, stackers, reclaimers and shiploaders, supporting beneficiation, sampling, stockpile and ship loading operations.

You'll live in Weipa and stay at our Amrun camp while on shift, commuting back to Weipa on your days off, with an additional allowance to compensate for time away from home.

Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor – Amrun Plant Maintenance, your role will involve:

• Preventative maintenance and inspections on fixed plant electrical equipment, including motors, drives, distribution boards, UPS systems, cable reelers and automatic lubrication systems
• Fault finding and fixing breakdowns across the beneficiation plant, stockpiles and shiploading areas
• Carrying out isolations and working safely in line with site procedures
• Supporting shutdowns, project work and continuous improvement
• Recording work accurately in SAP
• Working closely with mechanical maintainers and plant operators to keep the plant running safely and reliably

What you'll bring

• A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
• A Queensland Electrical Trades Licence, or an equivalent licence and the ability to get the Queensland licence
• Experience in a fixed plant, mining or heavy industrial maintenance team
• Experience with SAP or a similar work management system
• Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team
• A sense of ownership of the equipment and a mindset of continual improvement
• A manual C class driver's licence

Where you'll be working

Our Weipa Operations include three bauxite mines, processing facilities, shiploaders, an export wharf, two ports, power stations, a rail network and ferry terminals. Located on the Western Cape York Peninsula in Far North Queensland, the operation produces more than 35 million tonnes of bauxite each year.

Our operations are supported by a 1,900-strong workforce, including 26 per cent women and 25 per cent Indigenous employees. Activities include mine operations, maintenance, asset management, ports, cultural heritage management and processing facility management.

Our Amrun mine, completed in 2018, extends the life of our Weipa bauxite operations by decades and builds on our 55-year history on the Western Cape.
