Breakfast Line Cook

Description

Palm House is seeking a Breakfast/Lunch Line Cook to join our culinary team. In this role, you will prepare breakfast and lunch dishes with care, consistency, and attention to presentation. You will work closely with fellow team members to deliver the thoughtful service and high standards our guests expect.

What You’ll Do

• Prepare and cook breakfast and lunch menu items according to approved recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines.
• Set up and maintain your station so ingredients and equipment are ready for service.
• Check food quality, freshness, and presentation before dishes leave the kitchen.
• Work with the culinary and service teams to support timely, accurate orders, including guest dietary requests.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, allergen, and proper storage procedures.
• Label and rotate ingredients, monitor stock levels, and help reduce food waste.
• Clean and organize your station, equipment, and shared work areas throughout each shift.
• Assist with guiding and training newer culinary team members as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the culinary team.

What You’ll Bring

• At least three years of experience in a professional kitchen; breakfast or lunch service experience is preferred.
• Strong cooking fundamentals and knowledge of safe food handling.
• The ability to stay organized and produce consistent dishes during busy service.
• A collaborative approach, clear communication, and pride in your work.
• Availability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required by the schedule.

Physical Requirements

This position requires standing for extended periods; frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movements; and lifting up to 30 pounds. Team members must be able to work safely in a busy kitchen around hot surfaces and equipment, with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Experience preparing breakfast and lunch dishes to established recipes and presentation standards.

• Ability to manage a station independently and maintain quality during busy service periods.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with culinary and service teams.
• Availability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.
