Description
Schebler Chimney Systems is looking for a Product Development Engineer in Bettendorf, IA to design and develop new products from concept through production. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who enjoys the technical work of product design and also likes owning projects from start to finish.
You'll play a key role in shaping new products, improving processes, and collaborating across teams to bring ideas to life.
What You'll Be Doing
In this role, you'll:
- Design and develop new products from concept through production
- Create 3D models, part drawings, and technical documentation to support manufacturing and R&D
- Build and test prototypes, and apply what you learn to design improvements
- Define project scope, timelines, and success criteria
- Manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively
- Coordinate with Engineering, Sales, Manufacturing, Quality, and Marketing
- Partner with vendors and suppliers to support development timelines
- Identify risks early and develop solutions to keep projects on track
- Drive continuous improvement in product development processes

What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree required (Mechanical Engineering preferred)
- 5–7+ years of experience in product development, mechanical engineering, or technical project management
- Experience leading projects and coordinating cross-functional teams
- Strong mechanical and technical aptitude
- Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Self-starter who can manage multiple priorities effectively
Technical Skills
- Experience with AutoCAD Mechanical, SolidWorks, or Inventor
- Strong planning, scheduling, and project management skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
