DevOps Team Lead

 

 

So, what’s the role all about? 

We are looking for a highly motivated Team Leader - Platform Engineering to lead the evolution of the cloud platform that powers NICE Actimize SaaS offerings.

This role combines people leadership, hands-on technical leadership and platform strategy. You will lead a multidisciplinary engineering organization responsible for DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, developer experience, security enablement, databases and observability.

You will drive the adoption of Platform Engineering principles, enabling product teams to move faster through self-service capabilities, automation, standardized building blocks and cloud-native best practices.

As a key technology leader, you will partner closely with R&D, Product Management, Security, Operations and Architecture teams to define and execute the next generation of the NICE Actimize cloud platform.

How will you make an impact?  

 

Platform strategy and leadership

• Define and execute the Platform Engineering vision and roadmap.
• Build, lead and grow a high-performing team of DevOps, SRE, Infrastructure and Platform Engineers.
• Drive engineering excellence, operational maturity and continuous improvement.
• Establish platform standards, governance models and engineering best practices.
• Act as a senior technical leader and mentor across multiple engineering organizations.

Cloud infrastructure and modernization

• Own the cloud infrastructure strategy across AWS environments.
• Lead modernization initiatives around Kubernetes, GitOps, Infrastructure as Code and self-service platforms.
• Drive platform scalability, resiliency, security and cost optimization.
• Establish golden paths that simplify infrastructure consumption for development teams.

Developer experience and CI/CD

• Own enterprise CI/CD platforms, deployment workflows and release engineering practices.
• Enable faster and safer software delivery through automation and self-service capabilities.
• Improve developer productivity through platform tooling, templates and reusable services.
• Drive adoption of GitHub Actions, Jenkins, ArgoCD and modern delivery practices where appropriate.

Reliability and operations

• Lead SRE practices and reliability improvement programs.
• Improve incident response, root-cause analysis, operational readiness and platform resilience.
• Drive proactive risk management, technical debt reduction and production excellence.
• Strengthen observability, alerting and operational visibility across platform services.

Security, compliance and data platforms

• Partner with security teams to implement secure-by-default platform capabilities.
• Embed security controls into CI/CD pipelines and platform workflows.
• Ensure compliance, governance and auditability across cloud environments.
• Partner with Database Reliability Engineering and data platform teams to ensure scalable, reliable and observable data services.

Innovation and AI-first engineering

• Leverage AI and automation to improve engineering productivity and operational efficiency.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and define pragmatic adoption strategies.
• Foster a culture of ownership, innovation, learning and continuous improvement.

 

Have you got what it takes?  

• B.Sc. in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing engineering teams.
• 8+ years of hands-on experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, SRE, Cloud Infrastructure or Software Engineering.
• Proven experience leading large-scale cloud-native SaaS environments.
• Strong AWS expertise and strong understanding of cloud architecture patterns.
• Deep understanding of Kubernetes, containers and distributed systems.
• Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code such as Terraform, OpenTofu, CDK, CloudFormation or Helm.
• Strong experience designing and operating CI/CD platforms such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps or ArgoCD.
• Strong understanding of observability platforms, reliability engineering and production operations.
• Experience driving cross-functional initiatives across multiple organizations.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and decision-making skills.

You will have an advantage if you also have:

 

• Experience leading Platform Engineering transformations.
• Experience with AI-enabled engineering tools and automation frameworks.
• Experience with multi-tenant SaaS architectures.
• Experience with Database Reliability Engineering or data platform operations.
• AWS certifications or equivalent cloud certifications.
• Experience operating regulated, security-sensitive or compliance-driven platforms.
