Senior Supplier Engineer (NPI)

The Supplier Engineering (NPI) team plays a critical role in enabling Resmed's new product introduction activities by ensuring suppliers, manufacturing processes, and production systems are capable, scalable, and ready to support commercialization across a global manufacturing network. Through early supplier engagement, supplier capability development, process optimization, and risk-based decision making, the team helps accelerate product commercialization, strengthen supply chain resilience, and deliver high-quality products that meet Resmed's quality, delivery, cost, and safety objectives.

Based at Resmed's Galaxis office in Singapore, this role serves as a key Supplier Engineering presence supporting regional and global NPI programs. As a Senior Supplier Engineer, you will provide technical leadership in supplier selection, supplier industrialization, process validation, and manufacturing readiness throughout the product development lifecycle. You will work closely with suppliers and global cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate risks, influence technical decisions, develop supplier capabilities, drive supplier readiness, and establish scalable manufacturing processes that support successful product launches and long-term supply continuity.

In addition, you will lead complex supplier development initiatives, mentor team members, and contribute to the continuous improvement of Supplier Engineering capabilities, processes, and tools. Success in this role requires balancing technical excellence, supplier capability, quality, delivery, and commercialization objectives to achieve strong business outcomes and support Resmed's long-term strategy.

Technical Leadership, Supplier Industrialization & NPI

• Provide technical leadership in supplier selection, supplier development, supplier industrialization, manufacturing process development, tooling qualification, and process validation throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Lead and manage supplier industrialization, manufacturing qualification, process validation, and production readiness activities to ensure successful commercialization and scalable, robust, and cost-effective manufacturing.
• Lead technical reviews of supplier manufacturing solutions, including tooling, automation equipment, assembly fixtures, and production systems.
• Challenge and influence engineering decisions related to tooling design, manufacturing processes, automation strategies, inspection methods, process controls, and production scalability.
• Drive Design for Manufacturability (DFM) reviews and technical assessments to improve manufacturability, quality, delivery, cost, and long-term supply continuity.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate manufacturing, tooling, quality, capacity, and supply chain risks throughout product development, industrialization, and commercialization.

Supplier Development

• Assess supplier technical capabilities, manufacturing maturity, operational readiness, and production capacity to support supplier selection, qualification, and development decisions.
• Drive supplier capability development through technical coaching, process optimization, Lean Manufacturing, Statistical Process Control (SPC), quality engineering, and continuous improvement methodologies.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

• Partner with cross-functional teams and suppliers to align on manufacturing readiness, supplier strategies, risk mitigation plans, and successful execution of NPI programs.
• Lead resolution of complex technical, manufacturing, supplier, and quality issues while balancing quality, delivery, commercialization, and business objectives.

Leadership & Teamwork

• Mentor and develop Supplier Engineers and contribute to the continuous improvement of supplier engineering capabilities, processes, tools and best practices.

Let’s talk about Qualifications and Experience
Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• 8+ years of engineering experience in supplier engineering, manufacturing engineering, quality engineering, or new product introduction (NPI).
• Proven experience in new product launch, technology development, and supplier relationship management.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, tooling, automation, inspection methods, and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, apply metrology techniques and use data-driven problem-solving methods.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to deliver innovative solutions in complex environments.
• Strong project management, stakeholder management, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently while effectively collaborating within cross-functional and global teams.
• Proven ability to influence, mentor, and build capability in others through technical leadership.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced product development environment.

Preferred:

• Experience supporting medical device, regulated, or high-volume manufacturing environments.
• Experience with injection moulding, automation, assembly processes, or tooling development.
• Knowledge of statistical analysis, process capability, validation methodologies, and quality management systems.
• Experience leading supplier capability improvement and performance development initiatives.
