Description
We are working closely with a local authority in Rugby to assist with the appointment of a Corporate Finance Manager, on a 6-months contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £357.73- £450.53 per day
Summary:
The Corporate Finance Manager will provide hands-on technical accounting and corporate finance expertise across the organisation, ensuring the effective delivery of core financial management, accounting, statutory reporting and treasury functions.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and oversee the Statement of Accounts, ensuring accurate and timely completion.
- Coordinate and support the external audit process, responding to audit queries and providing required financial information and documentation.
- Manage VAT accounting and returns, ensuring compliance with relevant requirements.
- Prepare and submit CIS returns accurately and within required deadlines.
- Maintain and oversee the Fixed Asset Register, ensuring financial records are accurate and up to date.
Qualifications:
- Fully qualified accountant with a recognised professional accountancy qualification such as: ACA,ACCA,CIPFA,CIMA or an equivalent recognised qualification.
- Detailed understanding of local authority financial processes and statutory accounting requirements.
Essentials:
- Recent and substantial experience working within a District or Borough Council or a comparable local government finance environment is essential.
- Proven experience as a qualified accountant undertaking hands-on technical accounting responsibilities
- Experience of preparing Statements of Accounts within a local authority environment.
