Administration and Planning | Planning Architecture and Real Estate Physical Space and Capital PlanningThe Real Estate Senior Consultant (Real Estate Specialist 5) serves as a senior advisor to the Vice President of Planning, Architecture and Real Estate (PARE) regarding the organizational effectiveness of the Real Estate team and also serves as a direct advisor to the Real Estate team within PARE, providing strategic guidance and leadership to support long-term success. The position partners with departmental leadership and key stakeholders to assess organizational structure, workforce capacity, operations, staffing, workflows, resource needs, and effectiveness.
The Real Estate Senior Consultant leads and supports complex projects that advance Real Estate priorities and goals. The position assesses critical Real Estate functions, develops and implements operational improvements, completes advanced project work, and develops and recommends strategic initiatives that strengthen collaboration, accountability, organizational continuity, and effectiveness.
As a strategic partner, the position provides analysis, recommendations, and project leadership. Working closely with leadership and staff, the consultant leads and supports projects, workforce readiness and knowledge transfer efforts, and develops and implements practical solutions that improve organizational capacity, workload management, and the successful delivery of Real Estate programs and projects during a period of departmental transition and reorganization.
This temporary position is established to support operational continuity, strengthen organizational effectiveness, and advance key Real Estate initiatives and active projects. The position reports directly to the Vice President of Planning, Architecture and Real Estate.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Advanced degree in relevant field may be required. 8 years of relevant experience required. 12 or more years of relevant experience preferred.
Understanding of existing university financial structures and policies. Minimum of four years of experience working directly with medical or higher ed real estate functions.
