The Role:

The Senior Analyst, Commission will play a critical role in the financial planning, analysis, and operational support of our sales incentive programs. This role is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely execution of commission plans, managing quota and crediting processes, and maintaining strong financial controls. Partnering closely with Sales, Sales Operations, and Finance leadership, the Senior Analyst will leverage deep analytical skills to manage compensation data, model incentive outcomes, and provide actionable insights. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, driven by numbers, and brings strong technical proficiency in Excel, Power BI, Salesforce (SFDC), and compensation systems.

Responsibilities and Impact:

This role is central to ensuring our compensation programs are executed flawlessly and remain financially disciplined. The Senior Analyst, Commission will serve as the analytical engine behind our incentive operations, ensuring our sales teams are paid accurately and on time while protecting the financial integrity of the business.

  • Manage the end-to-end operational execution of sales compensation programs, ensuring accurate and timely calculation of commissions, bonuses, and other incentive payouts.
  • Administer and track complex quota and crediting processes, ensuring all transactions are accurately mapped to the appropriate sales representatives.
  • Leverage SFDC and compensation management tools (e.g., Xactly Incent) to maintain clean compensation data, track performance, and resolve crediting inquiries.
  • Utilize advanced Excel and Power BI to build, maintain, and optimize complex data models, incentive calculators, and financial reports.
  • Forecast sales compensation expenses, accruals, and payouts, providing detailed variance analysis against budget and prior periods.
  • Review commission calculations and payout processes to ensure absolute accuracy, compliance with plan terms, and alignment with internal financial controls.
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities through the ongoing analysis of sales results, attainment distributions, and payout patterns.
  • Drive process improvements and standardization efforts to enhance the scalability, transparency, and efficiency of sales compensation operations.
  • Prepare clear, concise reporting and presentations for management regarding compensation performance and program effectiveness.

Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates)

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $53,084 to $99,996. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.

What We're Looking For:

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in finance, sales compensation, sales operations, or financial analysis.
  • Deep understanding of sales compensation principles, specifically the mechanics of quotas, crediting, and commission structures.
  • Advanced technical proficiency in Excel (including Power Query, complex formulas, and data modeling) is required.
  • Hands-on experience with SFDC is highly preferred; experience with incentive compensation management (ICM) systems like Xactly Incent is a strong plus.
  • An exceptional affinity for numbers with rigorous attention to detail and accuracy—you catch the mistakes that others miss.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex, high-volume data into clear business insights.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build credibility and collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet strict payout deadlines, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
