Job Description

Provides oversight of all aspects of the ALSAC Safety Program and supports its seamless integration with the ALSAC Business Continuity Program. Provides support to the Advisor, Business Continuity & Safety, in planning, coordinating, and implementing business continuity, safety, and security initiatives and activities.

Responsibilities include supporting the development, implementation, and maintenance of key safety, security, and business continuity program components. This includes documenting, monitoring, and implementing routine hazard and security assessment initiatives for both the National Executive Office and regional offices; maintaining safety and business continuity program documentation; administering systems and databases that support program activities, including training and process improvement initiatives; and assisting with annual business continuity and safety plan maintenance activities.

Essential Job Functions

  • Maintains knowledge of safety, security, and business continuity planning methodologies, regulatory requirements, and management systems to provide guidance, support problem-solving efforts, and address operational and technical issues. Conducts employee training as needed.
  • Supports Safety and Business Continuity Department initiatives across a variety of functional areas. Builds and maintains positive working relationships with colleagues, employees, vendors, and local authorities. Performs work within a standard office environment with normal lighting and climate-controlled conditions.
  • Assists with the administration and maintenance of databases related to safety and security program activities, including user administration, content management, and user training. Prepares reports, procedures, and manuals that summarize and translate technical or complex information for diverse audiences.
  • Supports department metrics and reporting activities by collecting, assembling, and interpreting statistical data used for program monitoring, compliance, and performance measurement. Requires regular use of a personal computer and related systems.
  • Assists in drafting, updating, and maintaining safety, security, and business continuity documentation, including manuals, procedures, and program communications. Coordinates the preparation and distribution of updates as needed.
  • Maintains current knowledge of business continuity concepts and planning methodologies, as well as OSHA, NFPA, NLB, and other applicable safety and security regulations, industry best practices, and ALSAC policies. Advises the Business Continuity & Safety Advisor of regulatory changes and their potential impact on program operations. Assists in implementing required program modifications and coordinating updates with business continuity plans.
  • Schedules and coordinates Safety Warden, Safety Committee, and other departmental meetings in support of training, audits, exercises, and program activities. Manages multiple concurrent assignments while communicating clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Safety, Security Management, Criminal Justice, Emergency Management, or a related field preferred, along with 3-5 years of related experience, preferably managing or supporting a safety, security, or business continuity program.

Work Location

This position is onsite five (5) days per week at the ALSAC National Executive Office in Memphis, TN.
