Under limited supervision, handles a wide variety of advanced accounting work including maintenance of and preparing reports on complex budget or income and expenditure records. Exercises initiative in arranging details to obtain job objectives. May direct and check the work of other junior clerks. Handles special projects, as assigned.
As an Accounting Clerk, you will be responsible for:
- Process and maintain accurate accounting records, including supplier invoices, credit notes, customer invoices, receipts, bank transactions, journals, and fixed asset records.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, including supplier reconciliations, payment preparation, customer payment allocations, collections, and resolution of account queries.
- Perform reconciliations of bank, supplier, customer, and general ledger accounts, ensuring completeness and accuracy of financial data.
- Support month-end close processes by preparing schedules, reports, reconciliations, and audit documentation within reporting deadlines.
- Monitor and manage open purchase orders, GRIR balances, and supporting financial records.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting procedures, and confidentiality requirements while contributing to continuous process improvements.
To be successful in this role you will:
- Diploma or Certificate in Accounting, Finance, Bookkeeping, or a related field preferred.
- Have a minimum 5 years' experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role.
- Experience working with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
- Have sound understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
- Have excellent numerical, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
