Job Summary:
The Estimator is responsible for utilizing residential blueprints to complete load calculations, duct designs and material takeoffs to determine labor and material required to complete HVAC installations for residential new construction homes. Provides daily guidance and direction to the Estimating team and serves as the primary contact person between the estimating department and the remote division.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities*:
· Interprets blueprints and CAD drawings to create HVAC load calculations and designs.
· Estimate the amount of materials and cost of labor to complete the installation of HVAC systems in new residential homes.
· Communicates and distributes information to each division’s sales, administrative, leadership and the estimation team members.
· Provides regular updates to the to the assigned division in a timely manner to continue with the bid process.
· Evaluate team process and job completion.
· Train team members
· Remains available as a daily resource to all members of the Estimating team to answer frequently asked questions and provide ongoing guidance with inquiries
· Ensures that good customer relations are maintained, and that internal customer concerns are resolved fairly, timely and effectively
· Follows location initiatives and proactively informs and educates internal customers
· Makes recommendations to direct manager and in some cases develops improvement plans in response to internal customer feedback
· Ensures that all administrative guidelines are followed for reporting and paperwork
· Communicates all internal issues or questions to the Estimating Manager.
· Provides backup support to the Estimation Manager as needed
· Follows all company policies and procedures, including but not limited to safety.
· Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:
· High School Diploma or GED.
· 2+ years prior Estimation experience
· Must possess basic CAD operating skills.
· Ability to operate estimating and load calculation software efficiently with minimal or no mistakes.
· General computer competency is required, including a minimum of 1-year experience Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
· Must be able to communicate in English effectively, both verbally and in writing.
· Ability to work overtime with little notice; weekends hours may occasionally be required.
· Ability to lead a team of 1-3 employee and delegate work efficiently.

Physical Requirements:
· Must be able to lift/move up to 20 pounds frequently.
· Frequently performs tasks requiring bending at the waist, kneeling or crouching.
· Must be able to adhere to long periods of standing, walking or sitting.
· Ability to hear, understand and distinguish speech and/or other sounds to operate phones or other office equipment safely.
· With natural or corrected vision, able to see and focus for close, distance, peripheral vision with normal depth perception.
· Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word to impart oral information to others.
· Ability to enter text or data into a computer by means of a traditional keyboard or 10-key numeric keypad.
· Must be able to use arms and hands to reach overhead, signal, grab, hold, lift, turn, push and pull objects and tools
