Job Description Summary
Play an integral role in the department's activities with a high level of responsibility as a member of the Healthcare Finance team that includes eight managing directors focused on healthcare services and providers, primarily not-for-profit organizations. Clients include large healthcare systems, academic medical centers, community hospitals, managed care plans, physician groups, senior living companies, post-acute providers and select specialty not-for-profit organizations. Service offerings include capital markets activities (underwriting, placements, financial advisory), mergers & acquisitions advisory and real estate advisory. Responsibilities include formulating new business proposals and pitches, developing company forecasts and valuations, evaluating merger and acquisition scenarios, evaluating debt profiles and developing and implementing financing ideas for clients/target clients, financial/bond modeling and analysis. Associates are expected to work on every aspect of the transaction process.Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists with the execution of financing and M&A transactions, financial modeling, and industry and comparable company analysis.
- Actively participates in client pitches and transaction execution alongside experienced senior bankers.
- Prepares and delivers standard and tailored presentations, pitches and responses to RFPs for clients.
- Evaluates debt profiles and financing ideas for potential finance transactions for a client.
- Contributes to financial models, financial analyses including bond cash flows, and presentation materials related to market conditions and bond financings.
- Works on all aspects of financing transactions from credit analysis to legal document review to rating agency presentations to financial analysis to closing.
- Applies excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills sufficient to recognize and detect errors and offer resolution.
- Communicates, both orally and in writing, with all levels of the organization and clients.
- Works independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Seeks opportunities for development through the job itself, special assignments, training, or external activities.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications - External
Educational/Previous Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field and a minimum of two (2) years of experience in healthcare investment banking, consulting, equity research, investment management, business development and/or related fields.
- Experience with and working knowledge of DBC Finance is a plus, but not required.
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking, writing, verbal, and computer skills.
- Ability to adapt to new tasks with little notice.
- Manage expectations of senior bankers while working on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Organize, manage and track multiple detailed tasks and assignments with frequently changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Strong desire to grow professionally and assist in the success of the group.
- Assume full responsibility and accountability for own actions.
- Demonstrate uncompromising adherence to ethical principles.

Licenses/Certifications:
- SIE exam required or required to be passed within six (6) months of hire.
- FINRA Series 63, 79 and possibly the 52 licenses required or required to be passed within six (6) months of hire.
