Overview
Join the Business Systems Team and help turn complex project data into clear, useful insights. As a Senior BI Analyst, you will work with project teams, business stakeholders and technology specialists to develop and improve business intelligence solutions for the Major Projects Sector.
You do not need to have experience with every technology listed below. We are looking for someone with a solid BI foundation, strong analytical skills and an interest in learning and growing with the team.
Your role
Work with stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into practical BI solutions.
Design data models, reports and dashboards that transform raw data into meaningful information.
Develop and optimize SQL queries, data transformation processes and reporting solutions.
Contribute to the development, enhancement and maintenance of Power BI solutions.
Support the quality, integrity and reliability of data used for reporting and analysis.
Participate in solution testing and deployment, from development through production.
Collaborate with developers, business analysts, project managers and business owners.
Recommend practical improvements to existing dashboards, reporting methods and BI practices.
Help automate recurring business and reporting processes where appropriate.
About you
A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Practical experience developing business intelligence, reporting or data analytics solutions.
Experience using Power BI, including data modelling, Power Query and DAX.
The following experience would help you succeed in the role, but candidates with comparable or transferable experience are encouraged to apply:
Experience designing, developing or maintaining BI reports, data models or data warehouse solutions.
Experience working with data from multiple sources, such as databases, files, spreadsheets, SharePoint, enterprise applications or cloud platforms.
Experience supporting solutions from development through production.
Experience with one or more of the following would be an asset; expertise across the full list is not expected:
Microsoft Power Automate for workflow or business-process automation.
REST APIs and Web services, including authentication, JSON, endpoints, pagination and error handling.
Python for data preparation, automation or analytics.
Power BI Dataflows.
Microsoft SQL Server.
Microsoft Azure services such as Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage or Azure Functions.
Microsoft Fabric or Databricks.
SharePoint and enterprise application integration.
Other cloud data and analytics platforms.
Data warehouse design or advanced data integration patterns.
Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
Understanding of data quality, governance, security and access-management practices.
Familiarity with ETL or data integration processes.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills.
Ability to communicate in both French and English when supporting stakeholders in both languages. The specific business need for English should be validated and stated in the posting where applicable.*

Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
