Job Description
Ares Alternative Credit focuses on asset-based finance (ABF) and tactical asset investing opportunities beyond traditional markets, such as corporate debt, real estate and private equity. This strategy seeks opportunities in large, diversified portfolios, including specialty finance, lender finance, equipment leasing, structured products, net lease, cash-flow streams (e.g., royalties, licensing, management fees) and other asset-focused investments. As of March 31, 2026 (and inclusive of Q2 capital raises), Ares Alternative Credit managed approximately $57.3 billion in assets, Ares is a co-founder of the Promote Giving initiative (www.promotegiving.org) and at least 5-10% of the promote (carried interest and incentive fee) profits of Alternative Credit's flagship Pathfinder family of funds have been pledged to be donated to global health and education charitable organizations.
Ares is currently searching for a highly motivated, detail-oriented team player to join as a Vice President on the Alternative Credit (“Alt Credit”) investment team in the Atlanta office, focused on Asset Management with a primary responsibility to actively manage the team’s ongoing residential credit transactions across multiple Accounts.
The position will be primarily responsible for the allocation, diligence review and settlement of both flow and bulk residential loan acquisitions for Alternative Credit. This individual will work closely with a wide variety of counterparties, within Ares and externally, such as third-party asset management partners, residential loan originators, financing providers and loan servicers.
The nature of the team’s investment process and dynamic environment necessitates that a candidate have strong verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, a professional demeanor, along with sharp analytical skills relevant to structured investments. The role will require a high level of communication and managing multiple ongoing workstreams.
Primary Functions and Essential Responsibilities
- Day-to-day active management of ongoing trade commitment pipeline across flow and bulk residential loan transactions for numerous Alternative Credit Accounts
- Manage the process and optimization of loan exit and resecuritization opportunities for Pathfinder Accounts
- Provide support to rest of the residential deal team and oversee operating document negotiation and adherence with legal and counterparties
- General asset management including confirming fundings, coordinating settlements, valuations, and other asset-level reporting
- Frequent communication with financing providers, transaction counterparties and third party vendors
- Analyzing asset-level and originator guideline trends and metrics in real time and effectively communicate to the residential deal team
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required or international equivalent in Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance or related field
- Strong intellect with solid communication, quantitative, financial and analytical skills
- 4+ years of residential whole loan transaction experience, experience with negotiating operative documents preferred

The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. Total compensation may also include a discretionary performance-based bonus. Note, the range takes into account a broad spectrum of qualifications, including, but not limited to, years of relevant work experience, education, and other relevant qualifications specific to the role.
