The Student Services Coordinator provides administrative and programmatic support within a student services area and serves as a key point of contact for students, faculty, staff, and campus partners. This position supports the coordination and delivery of student-focused services, programs, and resources while ensuring timely communication, accurate documentation, and a positive student experience.The Student Services Coordinator assists with daily operations, responds to student inquiries, coordinates processes and services, maintains records, and supports department initiatives that promote student success and engagement. The role works collaboratively with campus partners and escalates complex concerns or emerging needs to appropriate leadership. This position contributes to continuous improvement efforts and supports institutional goals related to student support, compliance, and operational effectiveness.
Job Description
Essential Functions
- Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
- Processes all incoming Proctor Requests and maintain accurate records of all scheduled testing
- Carefully organizes spreadsheets used to track proctor data
- Communicates with students, and campus partners to establish and maintain reasonable accommodations for students needing accessibility services
- Proctor exams as needed
- Assists in the administrative oversight of services and resources for students students needing accessibility services, include, but not limited to testing accommodations, academic assistance, auxiliary aids, note taking assistance, readers, scribes, and others as necessary
- Utilize appropriate case management system(s) to maintain files with confidential student information
- Coordinates exam accommodations with graduate student proctors
- Assists the Assistant Director, Accessibility Services with supervising proctors
- Assist with data collection and assessment of the proctoring program
- Represent the department at campus events, meetings, or initiatives in collaboration with other department members.
- Hire, train and supervise student employee positions: Office Assistants (5-7 undergraduate or graduate students)
- Serve as an institutional resource for faculty and staff to ensure effective implementation of approved accommodations, and answer / address questions or concerns.
Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required):
- Ability to maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with University staff, faculty, students, and external stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail
- Independent problem-solving and teamwork in complex situations
- Proficiency with office software and student case management systems
- Knowledge of ADA, Section 504, and related state and federal disability laws and their application to higher education
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree (required); Master’s Degree in education, counseling, behavioral science, disability services, or related field (preferred)
AND
Experience:
- 1-3 years direct experience in higher education preferred

Physical Demands
Lift and carry 25 lbs. frequent sitting/standing, frequent keyboard use, *patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
