Public Safety Officer III

Overview

Shift’s Available:  Evenings

Employment Type: Full Time

Hours: 3pm to 1130pm

Location: Southern Regional Medical Center - Riverdale, GA 

 

Performs security services, including electronic surveillance, and systematic manual Security Officers’ rounds. 

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

• Coordinate’s facility response to various potential problems for patients, employees, and visitors.  Enforces policy & procedure, ensuring equitable enforcement.
• Follows guidelines and perpetual monitoring techniques, towards establishing a safe workplace for employees and a safe environment of care. 
• Works with the Environment of Care committee to ensure a multi-disciplinary approach to security and safety. 
• Participates in employee awareness and education.
• Is trained in the use of O.C. (Pepper spray/foam) and Taser device.
• Follows Hospital policy, guidelines, and training for the use of the assigned equipment/devices.
• Driving as needed for company business.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

 

1. DCI within 90 days of hire and maintain current annually.

2. Experience in Healthcare security or related field preferred.

3. High School Diploma or Equivalent required.

4. Successfully completed Probationary Period.

5. State Security Officer Certification or equivalent required

6. Certification in O.C. (Pepper spray/foam) required.

7. Certification in use of Taser device required and maintain certification.

 

Facility Specific Requirements (facility may require items listed below):

 

1. State Driver’s license upon hire

2. Current DMV H6 report or Driving History Report
