Overview

Job Summary:

The Wound Care Manager is responsible for the coordination of clinical activities of the Wound Care Center. This may include patient care assessment, patient care planning and implementation, and working on patient care quality improvement. This position works in collaboration with the Program Director and the Medical Director to meet the Center’s program objectives and help ensure optimal healing outcomes and patient satisfaction.

Job Responsibilities:

• Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.

• Proficient in all responsibilities related to Case Management. May be required to provide case management to a group of patients providing specific assessments according to protocols and procedures, clinical competence in procedural skills, treatments, and patient/caregiver education related to wound care management.

• Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.

• Develops documents and oversees implementations of clinical protocols for the clinic.

• Conducts nursing assessment on patients. Assists as needed with direct patient care.

• Coordinates and assists physician the patient case management.

• Facilitates referrals of patient to other medical specialists and to rehabilitative services.

• Plans and provides on-site occupational health programs for corporate clients.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Degree: Associate’s Degree

• Experience: 2-5 years

• Supervisor Experience: Not required

• Licenses & Certification: RN

Preferred Qualifications:

• Degree:  Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

• Supervisor Experience:  2-5 years

• Wound care certification preferred.
