SAP Center of Excellence (COE) Account to Report – Controlling Functional Consultant (Specialist level)

SAP Controlling Specialist is a permanent member of the COE A2R team, responsible for designing, building, and supporting planning models, management reporting frameworks, within S4HANA Margin Analysis and SAP Analytics Cloud. The role ensures seamless integration between SAC and SAP S/4 HANA Controlling (CO), enabling real-time financial insights across cost centers, internal orders, projects, profitability analysis, and internal management reporting.

The role sits at the intersection of management accounting, data analytics, and SAP technology -- requiring both a strong understanding of CO business processes and deep technical proficiency in SAC modelling, story design, Margin Analysis, Overhead Management, and integrated planning. The ideal candidate combines hands-on SAC implementation experience with a solid grounding in SAP Controlling (CO-CCA, CO-PA, CO-PC, EC-PCA), Margin Analysis (CO-MA), and Overhead Management (CO-OM), plus the ability to translate complex business reporting requirements into user-friendly SAC analytical solutions. Experience with Project Systems (CO-PS) is a valuable asset.

 1. Run Operations & Expert Support

• Provide L3 functional support for SAP S/4HANA Product Costing covering material cost estimates, cost component splits, standard and moving average price management, and inventory valuation

• Deliver L3 support for SAC analytics, Margin Analysis, and Overhead Management implementations covering SAC story design, data model optimization, S4/HANA Margin Analysis (CO-MA) profitability analytics, and S4/HANA Overhead Management (CO-OM) cost allocation design

• Resolve complex issues related to cost rollups, price differences, settlement/variance postings, SAC data refresh logic, and integration between PP, MM, CO, FI and analytics layers

• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close for costing, Margin Analysis, Overhead Management, and inventory valuation

2. Problem Management & Root Cause Analysis

• Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring and critical issues in Product Costing, Margin Analysis, Overhead Management, and SAC

• Identify configuration gaps, process weaknesses, data defects, and analytical logic issues; drive permanent fixes through controlled change

3. Change & Enhancement Support, under the governance of ITS COE A2R

• Analyze business change requests related to cost management, margin analysis models, overhead allocation structures, and SAC analytics content

• Design and implement configuration changes, Functional/Technical Specifications, and Testing & UAT support

• Ensure compliance with ESPHORA Template, internal controls, and audit requirements

4. Reconciliation & Control

• Ensure reconciliation between Inventory valuation, Material Ledger, and FI General Ledger

• Validate data flow in Margin Analysis, Overhead Management, and SAC reporting layers

• Support financial controls, audit queries, compliance reviews, and management/legal reporting.

Requirements for the role:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Management or a related field.
• Working time: CET time zone
• 6–8 years hands-on configuration and support in Product Costing (CO-PC), Margin Analysis (CO-MA), Overhead Management (CO-OM), and Cost Centre Accounting (CO-CCA)4–6 years hands-on experience in Product Costing and all other CO modules
• 3–5 years hands-on experience designing, implementing, and supporting SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) data models, stories, and embedded analytics for financial reporting
• Demonstrated expertise in end-to-end Account-to-Report (A2R) processes, integrating Controlling modules with SAC analytics delivery
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with high attention to detail
• Effective communication skills for interacting with business stakeholders and technical teams
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, tickets, and priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Experience documenting data policies, functional specifications, and technical specifications
