Octo Health is currently hiring a Founding Software Engineer to join their amazing team
About the company: Octo is personal health infrastructure. A longitudinal health memory that centralizes fragmented medical data and puts ownership back where it belongs - with the individual. One secure place for exams, results, symptoms and medical records. So every doctor visit actually means something. This is not a health tracking app. It's the foundation for a new relationship between people and their health data.

About the role: They're looking for a founding software engineer to join their small technical team and own meaningful parts of the product end-to-end, across mobile, backend and frontend. They work AI-augmented: Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, Windsurf. Used as collaborators, not crutches. Whoever joins leads prompt-driven workflows, AI-accelerated prototyping, and intelligent automation. This role is not about writing every line of code by hand. It's about combining technical excellence, creative direction, and AI-augmented development to move with both speed and precision.

What you'll do:
- Build and ship product across mobile, backend and/or frontend, blending speed, creativity, and precision;
- Engineer and refine prompts to generate, debug, and optimise code;
- Curate AI outputs into scalable, maintainable systems;
- Collaborate closely with product, design, and the rest of engineering;
- Ensure top-tier code quality, test coverage, and performance;
- Identify and pay down technical debt through thoughtful refactoring;
- Contribute to CI/CD and, where relevant, manage app releases on App Store and Google Play;
- Step in where needed. This is a startup. Adaptability is the job.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience
- 4+ years in software development, comfortable moving across more than one stack (mobile, backend or frontend)
- Proven problem-solving, debugging, and performance tuning
- Strong Git/GitHub and collaborative workflows
- Track record of shipping and maintaining high-quality production applications
- Solid understanding of UI/UX
- Knowledge of authentication/authorization protocols (OAuth, JWT)
- Strong communicator, fluent in English
- Bonus: experience with consumer products, CI/CD pipelines, AI-assisted dev tools, cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
