Position – Training Assistant
Location – Lincoln
General Summary
Assist Training Manager with creating, updating and facilitating training and development programs for Credit Union associates. Monitor and evaluate program attendees. Partner with other Credit Union departments to understand and update relevant policies and procedures.
Training Assistant Job Duties
• Facilitates training and development programs in a classroom, peer-to-peer or on-the job, and on-line/remote training programs. Primary focus is on new hire Teller training including processing transactions, product and service knowledge, member service, and credit union onboarding. Additional training programs may include account management, compliance, fraud, security, and other programs as needed.
• Monitors and evaluates training program attendees and provides feedback
• Acts as the subject matter expert on Credit Union procedures, transactions, products and services, and sets an example by exemplifying Credit Union Core Values and Service Expectations
• Partners with Training Manager and Credit Union leaders to review training programs and suggest enhancements to improve the engagement and learning opportunities; ensuring training materials and content is relevant and achieves Credit Union goals and objectives.
• Assists with creating and updating classroom and on-the-job training programs for Credit Union Associates
• Administers training records such as databases and e-learning portals.
• Partners with other Credit Union departments to understand and update relevant policies and procedures.
Credit Union Job Duties
• Maintains a strong and effective working knowledge of all Credit Union products, services, and systems.
• Fosters a positive, teamwork approach to model Credit Union Core Values and Service Expectations.
• Develops and maintains an understanding of Credit Union history, philosophy, organization, bylaws, and operational procedures.
• Assists the Credit Union on the Saturday rotation and with additional staffing needs as needed.
• Actively supports our “sales and service” culture and demonstrates these skills by communicating to members the benefits and features of all our products and services.
• Expects and embraces change by being flexible and adaptable.
• Conducts oneself in a positive, professional manner in relationship to all Credit Union activities.
• Participates in community/business/volunteer related events conducting oneself in a professional manner in relationship to all Credit Union activities.
• Completes ongoing in-house associate training which will enhance the Sales, Service, and technical development of the Credit Union.
• Assists in any area as directed by management.
Requirements
• Education
• Highschool diploma required. Some related college courses preferred.
• Experience
• 1-2 years facilitating classroom and on-the-job training preferred.
• 1-2 years banking experience preferred, specifically experience as a Teller or related role is ideal.
• Some experience creating training program curriculum using various software programs preferred.
• Proficient using Microsoft PowerPoint and e-learning portals for various facilitation methods preferred.
• Knowledge/Skills/Talents
• Banking/credit union operational knowledge preferred, general personal finance and entry level business knowledge practice knowledge required.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must have excellent presentation skills for classroom and on-the-job training facilitation.
• Must be able to effectively work independently and as a team.
• Must be able to manage training attendee engagement effectively with a positive attitude while consistently representing the Credit Union’s Core Values and Service Expectations.
• Must have effective project management, time management, problem solving, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
• Must have good computer software skills with the ability to train others.
Work Hours
Monday – Friday 8 am – 5 pm with a one-hour unpaid lunch. Works a rotating Saturday morning shift as needed.
Wage
Salaried exempt
Hourly $20.00 – 22.00+ per
Eligible for a wage increase annually as part of a merit performance review
Eligible for a discretionary gain-share plan payment annually

Retirement
- LFCU matches 100% up to 3% plus 50% up to 5% of associate’s 401(k) contributions for a total of 4%.

Reviewed for approval by the Board annually, this discretionary plan rewards associates when the credit union achieves above average performance. Associates are also rewarded based on their level of performance and contributions to the success of the credit union.
Paid Leave – Full-time
- Vacation– 2 weeks/year for new hires
- Sick – 2 weeks/year for new hires
- Personal Day – 2 days earned after one year
- Holiday Pay – 6 paid holidays/year plus 5 additional federal holidays per year are reserved for all-staff meetings. For one 1 of the 5, staff are required to attend an all-staff meeting, and the remaining 4 may be provided as holiday pay based on LFCU's discretion.
