Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) - Hand Therapy (Per Diem)Location: Ft. Myers, FLSchedule: PRN, Monday-Friday as neededPay: $35/hour
Select Physical Therapy is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide per diem coverage within our outpatient hand therapy program in Ft. Myers.
Qualifications:
- Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Minimum one year of hand therapy experience
- In lieu of experience, new graduates considered with recent hand therapy fieldwork experience
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the treatment of patients with upper extremity and orthopedic conditions, including tendon injuries, fractures, sprains, and post-surgical diagnoses
- Deliver care under the direction of the supervising therapist
- Collaborate with experienced hand therapists and Certified Hand Therapists (CHTs)

Responsibilities
- Under the direction of the licensed occupational therapist, optimize the functional abilities and skills of patients.
- Teach clients new ways of approaching tasks and educate them on how to break down activities into achievable components
- Ensure delivery of high-quality patient care services.
- Observe, note, and report on the progress of long and short-term treatment goals
- Ensure proper documentation of patient care.
- Maintain professional standards through compliance with quality assurance policies/ procedures as well as applicable regulations and corporate policies
Qualifications
- Must be a graduate of an ACOTA accredited occupational therapy assistant (OTA) program
- National registration and state COTA licensure or registration REQUIRED
- Must have 1 year current working experience with hand therapy patients. In lieu of experience, new grad COTAs with fieldwork in hand therapy with Select Medical would be eligible.
- Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
- Valid state driver’s license
