Class 1Job Summary
This position is responsible for operating yard trucks and moving trailers in and out of loading areas while maintaining a safe work environment and following Tyson Foods policies and procedures. The role supports the timely movement of goods throughout the facility, helps maintain inventory accuracy, and contributes to an organized warehouse operation through the safe use of material-handling equipment.
Responsibilities
- Operate yard trucks to move trailers safely and efficiently between designated locations.
- Coordinate trailer movements to support shipping, receiving, and production schedules.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment according to training and safety guidelines.
- Verify trailer locations and maintain accurate inventory and yard records.
- Conduct equipment inspections and report safety concerns, maintenance needs, or operational issues.
- Follow all company safety, food safety, quality assurance, and sanitation procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse, shipping, receiving, and production teams to ensure operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Attendance point level must be 4 points or less to qualify.
- No written warnings or suspensions within the last 12 months.
- Must be in current position for at least 6 months, unless the move is considered a promotion.
- Ability to safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, yard trucks, and other material-handling equipment.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and comply with Tyson Foods policies and procedures.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and climb in and out of equipment throughout the shift.
- Ability to work in varying warehouse, yard, and climate conditions.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry materials as required by the job.
- Ability to work safely around moving equipment, trailers, and vehicle traffic.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and perform essential job functions safely.
