Location: Washington, DC (Hybrid/On-Site)
Due to the nature of this work, some on-site presence will be required in Washington, DC. Only candidates within commuting distance of Washington, DC will be considered.
Clearance: Top Secret required. Candidates who currently hold a Secret clearance or are not yet cleared are encouraged to apply. Clearance sponsorship or an upgrade to Top Secret may be available for the right candidate.

About the Role
We are seeking experienced ServiceNow professionals at both the Developer and Architect levels to support a growing federal program. The ideal candidates will have strong experience designing, developing, and optimizing ServiceNow solutions across ITSM, Service Catalog, and custom applications.
This role requires the ability to work directly with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable, effective technical solutions. Depending on experience and qualifications, candidates may be considered for either a Developer or Architect-level position.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and deploy ServiceNow configurations, custom applications, and automated workflows.
- Build and enhance Service Catalog items, including Catalog Client Scripts, UI Policies, and Flow Designer automations.
- Support continuous improvement and optimization of core ITSM modules, including Incident, Problem, Change, Request, and Knowledge Management.
- Design and implement integrations with third-party systems using REST/SOAP web services and IntegrationHub.
- Participate in client meetings and technical design discussions, translating business requirements into clear and actionable technical solutions.
- Perform unit, integration, and regression testing to ensure high-quality deployments.
- Maintain update sets, release documentation, technical specifications, and design records.
- Mentor development team members and promote ServiceNow best practices at the Architect level.
- Support release management, peer reviews, technical governance, and compliance activities at the Architect level.
- Proactively identify technical risks, dependencies, and design gaps throughout the development lifecycle.
Required Qualifications
- Hands-on experience developing and configuring solutions on the ServiceNow platform:
- Developer: 5+ years of ServiceNow development experience.
- Architect: 8+ years of ServiceNow experience, including lead or architect-level responsibilities.
- ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD).
- At least one Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) certification; ITSM preferred.
- Strong scripting experience, including server-side and client-side JavaScript, Glide APIs, Business Rules, and Script Includes.
- Experience developing Service Catalog items, workflows, and system integrations.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and functional teams.
- Active Top Secret clearance or willingness to obtain/upgrade to a Top Secret clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience supporting federal or defense contracting programs.
- Experience with release coordination, version control, and automated testing strategies.
- Hands-on experience with the ServiceNow Automated Test Framework (ATF).
- For senior and Architect-level candidates, experience mentoring developers and presenting technical solutions in client-facing environments.
