Description
SeaTac is a city in motion: the most diverse community in Washington State, home to a global airport, and a growing network of community partners, programs, and projects. Every day, the City launches new initiatives, supports local businesses, and creates opportunities for people who call SeaTac home. Telling that story well means showing up in the right ways, on the right channels, for a community that communicates in many languages and many styles.
The Digital Communications Strategist is a hands-on storyteller who thrives on range. One day you might be planning and launching a social media campaign; another day you’re drafting a press release, editing a short video, or capturing photos at a community event. You help connect residents and businesses to City services, programs, and decisions by choosing the right tools for the moment whether that’s a post, an email, a blog, a flyer, or a short-form video.
This role directly reflects the City of SeaTac’s values:
Accountability — You ensure information is accurate, timely, and accessible.
Collaboration — You work across departments to source stories and shape messaging.
Trustworthiness — You communicate with clarity, consistency, and transparency.
Social Responsibility — You create content that reaches and respects diverse audiences.
Emotional Intelligence — You adapt tone, format, and approach to meet people where they are.
If you are a self-starter who can see what a situation needs and deliver it creatively, quickly, and with care for SeaTac’s diverse audiences this role is ideal for you.
