Purpose of the role

To participate in the day-to-day activities of the Investing and Lending division providing insights and expertise that help more senior colleagues make informed decisions, develop new products and services, and identify new market opportunities.

Accountabilities

  • Execution of small research projects, research to support strategic decision making, preparation of presentations and reports to communicate research findings, collaboration with senior management to implement research findings for investing and lending, partnering with clients across International Corporate Banking and Investment Banking.
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives.
  • Participation in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Identification of opportunities, development of business cases, management of the deployment and launch of new products and services for investing and lending.
  • Management of client relationships and provision of customer service support to clients and customers, under steadily decreasing supervision, responding to questions about products and services, processing of transactions, and management of the development and implementation of financial models and strategies that support in decision making in investing and lending.

Investing and Lending at Barclays

Investing and Lending is the centre of excellence for relationship lending across the Corporate and Investment Bank at Barclays. Responsible for product management, development, structuring and executing tailored lending solutions and portfolio management across the Investment Bank client set.

Who we’re looking for

To be considered for this programme, you must be in your penultimate or final year of your degree, in any discipline.

Language requirements: fluent in English, German desirable.

We are looking for someone who can work effectively both in a team and independently. Ideally, you'll be commercially and client aware. You will have the ability to digest financial information and make informative suggestions.
