Summary:
A working member of the engineering team who assists all departments in producing a smooth, efficient flow of quality work through the company. This is a technical support position for someone with a proven track record in engineering and the ability to work independently. The candidate should demonstrate leadership skills to represent the company’s quality commitment and work personably with other team members and departments as well as customers.

Job Specific Competencies:
1. Technical Support
a. Maintains or gains technical expertise on selected product families to support sales and system design
b. Provides technical assistance to customers applying and servicing ACTIA products
c. Supports other engineers with expert knowledge of ACTIA products
2. Collaboration
a. Assists the project manager with writing of requirements documents and project functional specifications
b. Coordinates with engineers as part of an integrated team during product development lifecycle
c. Assists production startup of products
d. Collaborates with all departments as required
3. Applications
a. Writes test plans for software and system verification tests
b. Sets up testing environment using CAN tools and other test equipment
c. Performs verification and validation testing
d. Ensures products are functioning per the project functional requirements
e. Mentors junior test engineers
4. Compliance
a. Ensure legal compliance with state, federal and OSHA requirements
b. Ensure ISO procedures are followed
c. Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications and Education
· Bachelors or higher in EE, EET, ME, MET, CS or demonstrable equivalent
· Must have superior troubleshooting skills
· Experience in vehicle/vessel system architectures
· Experience with databus messaging structure & application; preferably CAN
· Experience with small signal analog electronic design
· Experience with Digital electronic design including microcontrollers
· Experience with Mechanical design, 3D CAD design is a plus
· Experience with software engineering
· Experience with embedded systems engineering
· Experience with EMC/EMI and other environmental requirements
· Experience with electronics production process and methodology
Working Conditions
Movement
This position needs to occasionally move about inside the office and on the production floor. Frequently required to reach with hands and arms. Occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
Operate/Use
Must be able to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery (i.e. copier, printer, calculator)
Ascend/Descend
Rarely ascends/descends stairs to reach archived files
Communicate
This position frequently communicates with co-workers, managers and supervisors. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
Transport
This position frequently lifts or moves 10 pounds, occasionally moves up to 25 pounds and rarely lifts or moves 50 pounds for various needs.
Work Environment
Relatively quiet but fast paced.
Travel
Occasional travel to customers and vendors, with overnight stays, may be required.
